This is the best place I can find to put this, so here goes... I'm wondering whether to change my username to Candish.

Oh shush, past me. The thing is, people know me here as Candish. People say my name out loud as Candish (or Quandiche). I respond, immediately, to Candish. For all intents and purposes, I am Candish. Plus, I feel more comfortable using Candish as my name as opposed to a South Park reference. The New Year has come, and why not mark it with a triumphant reimagining of myself? Sorta?

But at the same time, it's not a name I chose. In fact, it was coined by Deslife. When I first arrived here there was a short bit of competition between Des' "Candish" and BadGuy's "Jewdy" - very short, because Jewdy is infinitely inferior. (I remember this because I looked back through all my old posts before rejoining.) It's superstitious, but by officially changing my alias to Candish... I dunno, part of me feels like I'd be giving up my identity to someone else. Surrendering to someone else's definition of me, even if it's a definition I quite like.

Nah my real advice is that you shouldn't worry about things like this so much, it's just a name and doesn't define you.
You could change your username to Spimford Tumberdale and I wouldn't care, you still the same person

I like your name as it is now, Jewish. I hadn't even a clue that it was a South Park reference and it doesn't exactly strike me as one either. Candish is short, like people calling me Shroob - but I'm Shrooblord, not Shroob, even though I kinda like being called Shroob.

Seriously though, I don't get why it bothers you. If it's something that bugs you that much, maybe it's time for change. But I'll be sad to see the old name go!

I think you should change it to Candish but thats just my opinion.

Oh god, that's true - if I'm Candish then Juli's sig wouldn't fit anymore. That's just no good. My heart says Candish but not at the expense of Juli...
