He said that when Origins came out/while it was in production, I can't remember where I found it though.

I thought he said that a new 3d Rayman game was being planned, and that it could be based on the Raving Rabbids prototype.
I translated that interview, and if I remember correctly, he was not saying it was being planned, he was only like "yeah, sure, it's possible that we might do one in the future" and that it was possible that they might reuse some elements of the RRR prototype.

I specifically remember reading that a new 3D Rayman game was in the works on this forum.

It's very popular, especially for games like Rayman Legends, where the file size isn't exactly that large. The only reason Origins was ever released in physical format was because the game's content was deemed worthy of the price of a physical game. In actuality, Rayman Origins' file size is just about 2GB - they could of easily sold the game episodically as they originally intended, or even just release the whole game as a digital-only title.

Rayman Legends obviously had to be released physically because Origins was. But Legends' file size is also not very big. I believe the Wii U version is 4GB, while other versions are a bit smaller than that. And the Vita versions of Origins and Legends have a tiny file size.

So yeah, Legends is an ideal title to own digitally, so that it's on your system no matter where you go. Combine that fact with the game being released earlier in digital format, it's easy to see how this game would be more popular as a digital download (and I also know the game is cheaper on the Nintendo eShop and Steam than it is in physical form).

So I wouldn't listen to VGChartz on this one. Ubisoft will probably talk about the games sales in detail somewhere down the line.

Hm, very well. I don't do digital shopping yet, so I'm grateful for the physical releases.

I do digital shopping for most of modern games. But if I am a fan of series I would like to own it on disc too?

If I were capable of digital shopping, I wouldn't really be bothered, unless a physical release comes out cheaper.

I remeber when browsing RPC once I found old topic where you mentioned it, but that was like few months ago. Can't seem to find it now.

It was an interview Droolie translated, methinks.

One thing is suggesting future games, other thing is actually confirming it.

True, and this was never 100% confirmed. Many people however would like it.

That much is obvious.
As for this rumour, nothing is set in stone.

I'm calling a third entry in the "Origins saga".

Hm, I prefer the term "UbiArt Trilogy," but Origins Saga works.

UbiArt Trilogy sounds better to me as well.

Yeah... you're right. Let's call it the Ubiart Trilogy. If there's a third installment, of course.

Indeed, otherwise, it'll be the UbiArt Duology, which still sounds pretty decent. Of course, if the next game doesn't use UbiArt, but is still connected to the story that began with Origins, then Origins Saga will be more fitting.

I see no reason why it would not use UbiArt. It worked good last time.

In that case, Ubiart Saga sounds better.

An interview actually mentioned that there's more in the future for Rayman. Considering how easy is to develop with Ubiart and that those games sell a lot better than 3d Rayman games, I imagine that Ubiart won't be forgotten for the next project. They just need to innovate a little more, and of course, improve in the story department. Michel pretty much confirmed that it will be on Wii U. When he was asked what does he think about next gen for Rayman, he just kept mentioning how enthusiastic he is about including Miiverse in his future Rayman games.
