Your Graphics Card is maybe an issue. It is a bit outdated.

Dear experts of Rayman Optimum, or Snagglebee,
I downloaded the Rayman Optimum mega patch to be able to relive a bit of the antique Rayman experience again, with all the new features I especially have not tried out before.
Everybody in the post indicate they could test them out well, but I had a problem even running the applications, all of them.
Whenever I open the games from shortcut, two lines of message pop up, saying "Access Denied" in the first line. Then, all of them lead up to a Loading screen, where the command prompt say "c:// Forbidden command: Start"
I am not a computer programming expert and I am not familiar with operating in MS-DOS, Dosbox. What do you think would be the problem? I do not think Configurations play a big role in this, since I tried the 3 default states as well as other settings (after observing the posts here).
What do you think I should do for you to overcome this?
Sincerely,
AFB92

Have you tried running it as administrator?

As in the computer account, or by manually opening DOSBOX and type the correct terms to open the Rayman apps? How may I do so?

I think something about WinPcap might do, but that's all I know now.

Regarding the numerous posts about the startup error message, i think it is a good idea to add the fix to the tips list in the post, in case there may be more people complaining about not getting the game to run. This is a pretty common error and it should be adressed:
Snagglebee wrote:
You may can already start Rayman 1 by yourself on newer PCs using DOSBox or use simply Pok2's patch, but this ladies and Gentleman is going further beyond! A patch that has never been before ever! Even it outshines UbiSoft's release of Rayman Forever in Rayman Collection! Only in this collection you can see Rayman 1Rayman DesignerRayman by his Fans and even the rare and unkown Rayman 60 Levels in English, French and German compiled together in one link. Unlike Pok2 & GoG and UbiSoft, this one can bring the full native speed back like it was in the old Windows 95 PCs. There are so many videos out there in YouTube on which you can here bad and scratchy soundeffects. This one give you the best quality that was available back then. Using filters and renderers it can improve the graphics and make it look decent on your high definition monitor. Even the intro clip has been enhanced to play in full 60 frames per second. In conclusion it is indeed the best you can get to play Rayman 1 in modern technology!
If you got nVidia Optimus, I'd recommand you to launch the games with your intergrated chip.
It's always better to take the smallest resolution that your monitor can handle.
Some scalers will not work with OpenGL so if you want a specific one take DDraw instead.
You can record best with Bandicam.
Apply slowmotion fix only if your games run in slowmotion!
Never ever play with the frequencies selection in the options menu!
If the game shows and "illegal command" error during startup, try running the game as administrator.
Special thanks to Truner !

Sorry to bump this topic, but I really didn't want to create a new one because of this.
I've started making some new levels with Rayman Designer, but I'm experiencing some rather annoying problems.
Firstly, the cursor in the event editor is super sensitive and when I move it even for a little bit it races to the other side of the screen. I have to be very careful while moving the mouse and it's starting to get a bit tiresome.
Secondly, sometimes when I re-enter a map, all of the gendoor links are gone and I must connect them again.
Any ideas?

The gendoor problem is caused by saving when exiting using the W shortcut. Press S instead when you want to save and exit through the start menu.

The mapper is extremely confusing. I thought it would be a Mario Maker thing. I guess Ubisoft liked their idea of copying and pasting parts of the level everywhere. Now I understand how hard it is to make a Rayman level. Also this is a lot of smilies.

Yeah I had to follow a tutorial at first to understand how to make a level, it's pretty confusing at first but now I can easily use it.

Lets not forget that technology was much different back in 1997.
