How do you know that? Because last time I checked, mankind hadn't settled how big a part genetics plays in proportion to how big a part environmental factors play. But if I understand you correctly, you do agree that genes play a noticeable part and thus there is such a thing as talent?
Indeed I do, though I don't like to compliment people by calling them "talented" and so on, because there's a lot more to it than that. I input a small reference to my dislike of the word in here mainly because of Spiral's frequent use of the word which bugged me slightly.

So if we kidnapped Albert Einstein the day he was born and secretly replaced him with a different child, you think that child would grow up to be just as intelligent and imaginative as the real Einstein? That all of his abilities were derived from his upbringing rather than his biology?

You seem to consider nurture more important than nature – the reason for this bias is fairly obvious.
That reminds me of something. My great great great great grandfather was a very famous rabbi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yosef_Chaim_Sonnenfeld), and there's this story about him: when he was young, his father/adopting father (I don't remember) wanted to send him to a university in europe (they lived in Slovakia) because he was a genius. He wanted to learn Torah and holy Hebrew scriptures and be a rabbi. He somehow managed to run away, and after a few years, he got to Israel. If he had stayed in europe, he would most likely have been a very famous professor, and his family would most likely have been wiped out in the holocaust, and I would therefore never be born. Anyway, he went from one reality where he would have been a successful professor to a reality where he educated generations upon generations in his religious way of thinking. That change didn't make him or his descendants stupid, and the average IQ in my family is 135.

DEAR GOD you seem to have completely saturated the heck out of my statement. I said that nurture usually effects a person more than nature, not that nurture is all-powerful and nature is nothing.

I'm on your side here, but there's nothing wrong with doing what you love... unless that love is killing people. :P

YouTube - Cosmic Panda

THE NEW YOUTUBE LAYOUT ''COSMIC PANDA'' BETA HAS BEEN RELEASED!

But, is this a good thing? I find the layout rather beautiful and the search bar looks very modern. The logo has also received an updated smooth style. However, I do find certain downsides to this new concept. I hope this image is large enough to read, as I have a detailed explanation showing the new features and layout that we will soon be greeted by:

Image

The image is a bit difficult to read. I recommend you to zoom in! This beta is optional and is not required... for now. Expect this to be the future of YouTube in 2012.

Something else related to YouTube: Does anyone have the Menu and New Corruption themes from Terraria? they are the last tracks that I need in order to upload the OST to YouTube.

EDIT:
It has been announced that this version is rather early, and that many changes will occur in the final version. This may include transparent templates and easier video navigation.

Ew, I don't like this new layout. I can't even turn the background transparent.

Transparency is currently unavailable in this Beta. Once the final version is released we will (Hopefully) have many beautiful background pop up at YouTubeLayouts.com and MyTubeDesign.com!

I was simply testing the strength of your views with a reasonable question. You did say that you don’t believe in the existence of talent; a powerful argument in the other direction seemed in order!

No, because of the arguments you get involved in.

Guys

Me and Bart/Trololo and Fat_Mario are making a webcomic about games
Cliché but nice
And here's a first version http://gamingbunch.thecomicseries.com/
It's totally not finished obviously; Bart is coloring it now and he's doing a beautiful job as an inker, colorer etc.
