Oh, you all don't understand WHICH polygons? So in case you didn't know, everything in 3D computer game is made of triangles (or in weird case, quadragons), which are coloured and then a picture called texture is put on them. So if there would be no textures, everything would be weird, but with some colours. (So probably no strings under Rayman's hood etc.)

That's quadrilaterals. These weird cases are mostly Sega Saturn games because it didn't support triangles.

It supported it, you just needed to have two identical vertexes. However, it was slower then, especially if you made a quadrilateral of two triangles being in real quadrilaterals, so you rendered two ones instead of one.
