If they scream, they scream.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Sorry for the bump, but I see that there is no Raywiki article for this game as of yet, nor is there one on Wikipedia. Therefore I have decided to start one. Unfortunately I don't own the game and don't know much about it, so I'm going to put everything I know right now. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
I think the article is ok, but I think that more stuff could be added if someone here plays the entire game.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
If you want this game so bad, then buy a Wii.
And lol, PS2. :\ I take it you never owned a PS2 to compare your DS games to. The PS2 is quite more capable than the DS will ever be, just as it's quite more capable than the N64, Sega Saturn, and PSOne. In fact, if you're so tight on money, I'd actually take a PS2 over the DS considering the PS2's large library of games over the course of it's lifetime.

Anyways I think I'm getting Off-topic
Movie-based games)I can't see why Ubisoft can't release some bad graphic games on the PS2 other than the Freaking motion control(I've tried it before....I got bad aim.....)thing.

Damn expensive?!RayStormGirl wrote:The Wii is so D*mn expensive. The graphics are bad enough to be on PS2 though....
I don't know if you already know but Wii's price is now 199,99€ instead of the 249,99€. And PS3 on the beggining was the double of that.
Wii's graphics aren't its strenght, but in terms of originality of the controls it owns everyone.

Quality > Originality/'Innovation'
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
You are talking about the overall quality I hope.
Because graphics aren't everything, the graphics on a game can be extraordinary and rest being like crap.
For me this is the correct thing:
Gameplay/Longevity > Story/Originality > Music/Sound > Graphics

Of course I am. I said 'quality', not 'graphics'. Although good graphics are always welcome, while 'innovation' can sometimes ruin games. See Mirror's Edge for a good example...Haruka wrote:You are talking about the overall quality I hope.

~Games don't need to be 'different' or 'original'. Look at Rayman, for example.

That I surely know, but of course if the graphics are ok, better for my sight.spiraldoor wrote:I said 'quality', not 'graphics'. Although good graphics are always welcome, while 'innovation' can sometimes ruin games. See Mirror's Edge for a good example...
True also, the games follow the basic stuff from platformings.spiraldoor wrote:Games don't need to be 'different' or 'original'. Look at Rayman, for example.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
No, Gameplay > Visuals > Sound. Originality is an aspect of the gameplay, and should be considered such. The story's position varies depending on the genre. For an FPS it's nearly irrelevant, for an RPG it's nearly everything. Visuals (of which graphics [including poly count, textures, resolution], framerate, artwork and art direction etc. are all components) are more important than sound (including music). I can play a game without music (some games don't even have music; it can detract from the immersion/atmosphere). You must remember that you're looking at a game's graphics for the entire time you're playing it; you want it to look as good as possible.Haruka wrote:For me this is the correct thing:

Graphics and gameplay are the two qualities which are always utterly relevant. 'Replayability' or 'replay value', or 'lasting appeal' as some call it, is meaningless to me. If a game is good enough I'll always replay it with no regard for whether there's a lot to do or a good multiplayer component, or whatever this 'replayability' is supposedly based around.
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Hmmm I guess you are right about the music's position with the graphics.
I'm also that kind of person that loves to listen well and high sound the sound effects and the music.

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
Whether it's better value than the PS3 or not it's overpriced, the quality of the console and the games specifically produced for it are horrendous. I've been trying to sell the Wii I got last Christmas but I've yet to see any takers who are willing to pay more then twenty pounds. If anyone here wants a cheap-as-chips Wii console that's in prestine condition, just give us a shout!

Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
My younger sister (a Rayman fan herself) is getting a Wii for her birthday (next month). I'm not pleased. She already has a PS2; getting a Wii is quite a step down in my opinion. Perhaps I'll put some ROMs on it for her (R2 N64 etc.). That's one thing it's good for. I also have an R3 GC ISO. Maybe that as well.
Re: Rayman will be in Academy of Champions
The Wii is only really good for the first week of usage, in my opinion. After that it's just a waste of earthly space.
