Thanks to Polish word "kretyn", I think it would be "moron rabbits".

in dutch the word rabbit is 'konijn', but there never came a dutch version of any Rayman game except in Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge.

I do really wish there was a dutch version in Rayman 3 though, because Rayman sounded so godly sexy in the R3 commercials, which were translated into dutch. T_T

As Stacey said, they're usually referred as lapins crétins. Stupid rabbits is a perfect translation, but the word moron is too strong.

Seems like you totally missed my point. That's what you've heard. Read the messages above, there are plenty of other possibilities.

Yeah, but that specific quote couldn't really be aimed at anyone besides Globox himself. Furthermore, he also talks about himself in part 2, calling himself a glute several times, so the possibilities have been lessened.

Well, it's either 'glute' or 'glood', but having listened to it countless times, I'm pretty sure it's glute.

On a true note, I think Mr. Wierzbięta just saw that "incredible booger" would sound funny. And it sounds funny in Polish.

I have interesting news about glutes... First of all, I was wrong when I said that it could be another word: I played Rayman 3 today and Globox distinctly mentions Spider-Glute, even in the French version. The word is even written in one of the scrolling texts that appear in the menu. However, I was right when I said it could not refer to Globox's species: just have a look at this booklet. At page 25/26 (PDF pagination), you have a well-known picture with almost all characters and species, and at page 26, their names (in French). And among the names, the word Glutes is mentioned, which simply means that it refers to a species hopefully present on the picture, and obviously not Globox, who's already mentioned in second position. I said hopefully because not everyone in the list is on the picture.

There are four creatures in the picture that I wasn't able to identify at first: the blue bird, the small fairy, the black eyes you can see in certain holes in the Fairy Council, and the small creatures you can free in Razoff's mansion. Also, there are seven names I'm unsure what they refer to in the list: the Podrocs, the Noirôdeurs, the Muddies, the Fée-crétaires, the Glutes, the Ugly and Céloche.

Now, we may be able to identify some of them:

• The small fairies are without a doubt called Fée-crétaires: fée stands for fairy in French, and the whole expression is a pun, so that it sounds like secrétaire, which means secretary
• The black eyes are very likely to be called Noirôdeurs, as the word is also a pun, made of noir (black) and rôdeur (lurker)
• The creatures in Razoff's mansion could be the Ugly, which means they would have been named after their ugliness
• The Muddies may be those slingshot-like creatures, as they live in mud
• Céloche is believed to be the robot in the Land of the Livid Dead, but I can't remember how we found out

So, as you can see, I'm still clueless what the birds are called, and what Podrocs and Glutes are, but they do exist If you have any suggestions, please tell us!

I managed to spot those weird creatures on page 25 that appear in the secret in TOTL part 4. Perhaps these are given a name. We already know the slug-like creature (only two appear in the game, we think) is called a Squab, and the creature in the first cinematic that gets shaved is called a Mawpaw, but I don't think we know the names of these strange caged beings. Perhaps these are Glutes.

Muddies, although being a French translation, would indeed be referring to the 'Muddibogs', those worm-like pests that come out of holes in the ground. That's that covered. However, what confuses me here, is that I can't seem to find a picture of the Muddibog anywhere in the picture on page 25.

Back to Glutes, you may be right. The one thing that prevents my theory from being valid is that there is only 'Globox' in the picture, therefore Glutes wouldn't need to be mentioned. We now have an interesting task: to discover what the woman in HH was talking about when she said Glute. I'm already having troubles here. This, however, doesn't prove that the Globox species aren't called Glutes, though. It just suggests.

(by the way, has anyone else noticed the abnormally large Matavu on the left? )

Is this the Rayman 3 art book you were given? If so thanks very much for posting! I'm still not sure on which one of these names matches Globox's species either, since he was the only one in this game, right? [while we're at it, you don't suppose Raymanin's are the Ray gnomes you break?]
