That's typically the case with 3G versus Wifi. Though, if they're running off the same netowork, then I have no idea. Regardless, you laptop's speed is still bloody stellar.

I had that same experience. We used to have Verizon and switched to Charter not long ago, and I couldn't be any happier now because Verizon was shit. The one we have now is also 10x faster and cheaper, plus our previous Internet wasn't even unlimited.

The same provider offers now 100Mbps up and 5Mbps down for the same price. We have to wait until the contract ends so we can switch to that faster connection.

3G traffic limits ahoy.. well.. sort of limited anyway
This is what happens when I run into the rather ridiculous 3G/3.5G (HS(D)PA) traffic limits on my phone(s), which happens quite often and then limits me to GPRS-like (64KBit/s) speeds.. at least on the download side of things
Regular DSL connection speed isn't anything worth talking about either..
.. just your average oversold Vodafail (ex-Arcor) DSL which slows down to a crawl every evening..
Gonna get Unitymedia/UPC/Liberty Global cable as soon as the Vodafail adhesion contract¹ runs out.

The joys of using light to transmit data, eh? Optical Fibres are one of the things I've studied in the past, though it's focusing on the theory behind it.

Apparently we're getting the limit increased to 150mb by the end of april.
Right now this is what it says
I really want them to increase the upload though.

Huh, Virgin uploads do leave a lot to be desired.
