I was looking again to some older watercolours that weren't shared before. Despite of being a bit dated, I feel they're alright to show anyway.

They're based in the known prototype/scrapped Hoodlums.

I think the watercolors hold up well! I'm especially a fan of your Gunslinger Hoodlum art; the smoke coming out of the pistols makes it look awesome.

(Side note: Why didn't they reference the Gunslinger Hoodlum in Rayman in the Phantom Show's Western Set? That would've been the perfect opportunity to bring them back or hide them in that world as a cameo! )

I still have yet to play that DLC, once I clear the story of Sparks of Hope (it's on my bucket list of games).

I have more old watercolours of fauna/enemies: the Ninja Crab and the Muddibogs.

I think we're already lucky with the number of different Hoodlums we got in Rayman 3, but those drawings make me wish they'd included more now.

I'm pretty sure they just didn't spend enough time browsing RayWiki to find out about it.

Many thanks! I always found Kagoubinôme and the Gunslinger to be the most interesting ones of the scrapped lot. I heard a while back about a scrapped Rayman M character I do want to have my watercolour take too, it's both wild and amazing how a Piranha controlling a mechanic exoskeleton was considered for the game!!

Remember the carnivourous plants pets that Razorbeard is described to have in the Rayman Arena manual? I once made a design for two twin plants. They're named Rip and Jaws, and you can tell who is who.

With the years I also imagined an alternative Rayman universe and thanks to the UbiArt games there was a big revamp on ideas and such. These are some original characters of my story. There's other one not in the attachments that I'm working on a redesign to make new watercolours to show later. Some of the old guard community fans might remember her...

Thanks! I should make updated watercolours for all of them, maybe someday.

In the meantime I've redesigned one of my oldest fancharacters ever (almost 20 years old!), encouraged by the 30th Anniversary Edition of Rayman 1, the recent Legends Retold reveal and her rebooted story since a few years back. There was a general need to give her a fresh look while maintaining her key visual identity.

Neat stuff, all this! The artstyle reminds me of Ken Sugimori.

Thank you! It's natural, there's influence on his art.

Nice redesign! I remember the previous version well from many of your old sigs.

She also helped me win the PS3 Collector's Edition Rayman Origins copy too all the way back, and I still have that copy saved.

Oh yeah, I also remember that beautiful submission! Definitely one of the highlights of the contest.

Before I did the watercolours I created first a digital character reference to help me figure out what changes I wanted, but also to have consistency especially for asymmetric textures she now has in her jeans.

I don't remember seeing the previous version of your fan character, do you have links to it?

I don't but she had less details on her clothes and hair colour and proportions were not very consistent. My drawing skills improved with time too.

Gosh, it's true! I still think that Droolie had one of the most creative and interesting illustrations.

If I were to remake that illustration I did, it would look so much better today both in the lineart, the composition and especially the colour. I was still figuring out how to deal with watercolours at the time!

Well, you still won a prize (and so did Droolie), so I guess it was good enough already.
