Well, a notification about "Low Disk Space" on a recovery partition... Isn't that annoying?
But you can turn it off by following this: http://vistax64.com/tutorials/67600-low ... vista.html
[/total-off-topic]

Now back on track...
http://americanscientist.org/issues/fea ... le-planets
http://arxiv.org/abs/0705.3444
http://newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/ast99/ast99365.htm

But remember, Rayman has a fictional universe.
It doesn't mean that its law of physics should be completely realistic.

Thank you.

As for the planet being so lush, I don't think Ubisoft was aware that life couldn't form in binary systems.
I wasn't either, until now.

Read my post again. I edited it, and added on-topic links.

Interesting. Never mind then, I was believing what someone else had said.

Or his powers just wouldn't be effective above ground. Maybe he has powers to control the elements on the ground, but not air. This is even more emphasized by the fact that there was no air sanctuary ( well, at least not in the original Rayman 2, there is supposedly one in Rayman Revolution ) where a mask was found, but that it was found under the ground in The Iron Mountains.

I made the binary point earlier. But possibly back when this thread didn't exist. That binary thing has always got on my nerves. Surely the planet would look more like Tatooine if the 'fluke' of life had gone and happened? :? Screw you, Ubi.

Spiral's 'aura' idea makes a lot of sense to me. The reason Polukus is vulnerable in air is not because the aura isn't out there; I think it just becomes more tangible, more chemical, like our atmosphere. All that energy goes into protecting the planet from the suns, making the ozone equivalent. Polukus is a planetary spirit, and seems to exist in some kind of 'dream dimension' which his creations can access. I don't know, perhaps the lack of 'magical' energy up in the sky means he can't really find any footing, or power?

Also, I doubt his fat ass could float for very long. :mefiant:

Why did you skip my post? Read the links I've posted. They clearly states, that as long as the planets are in a stable habitable zone, terrestrial formation is possible in a binary system. So far, your "point" has gone into a repetition:
Jewish Candy wrote:The binary system idea was a HUGE mistake on Ubi's part. No planet could have lucious flora and fauna in such a star system, it just isn't scientifically possible

OH!!! Sorry, I got the second post down. :oops2: Woops. And then I didn't catch your links. Because I was watching Baccano. So yeah, I had a good reason. NYEH. (Sorry, I'm drunk right now)
Still, I'm not convinced life could form the way it had on Rayman's world. So yeah, a repetition.

But if the 'protective aura field' is really that low above the ground, and it does protect them against the two suns (I think they're just colder than our sun, to be honest. it IS possible. Either that or their planet is further away.) then it must be really warm inside the buccaneer...
ParadoxJuice wrote:Maybe that's why there's lava on the ship?
If the Buccaneer can survive the unfiltered solar radiation of space, then it’s a given that it can also survive the partially-filtered solar radiation of the upper atmosphere. It’s very easy to forget that the thing is primarily a spacecraft.

A couple of years ago, I theorised that the gods were elemental (Polokus = Earth, Leptys = Air, possibly Jano = Fire, something like that), but that theory doesn’t really stand up when you consider that Polokus has four elemental masks. I think Polokus did create an air Sanctuary, it just got destroyed somehow.

Why does everyone ignore the rest of my post about the mountains? :|

Yes, they are. They're at the same height, at the least. You just need to watch the very first cutscene of Rayman 2 and you'll see.

:oops2: Aahhh... yes, you're right. Why the HELL do they fly at a place where snipers can reach 'em? :mefiant:

The Glade does seem rather mountainous, doesn't it? Globox's House is on a cliff face... the Eastern Plains are on a cliff face... So's the Fairy Glade, in places... hmm. Polukus didn't really design the world with small children in mind.

Yeah, ofcourse Clark is tall. If he didn't have such a hunched back, he'd be even taller.
