Was it any better than The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone? I loved Blink but the season five episodes ruined the weeping angels.

Nope, the Angels are much better portrayed here.
Go ahead and watch it, you shall not be disappointed.
So, now that Doctor Who has finished its run, another show, Merlin, takes its place, I can't wait!
Merlin is now in its fifth series and I like it, I'd recommend it to anyone who is a whovian.

Also, thanks for the spoiler warning in your first post after my last, but I've been avoiding this topic until I saw the episode (which was just now).
So I finally got to watch
The Angels Take Over Manhattan and I am glad to have seen it. I guess my assumptions were correct (at least for me) when I said that the writer of the episode basically creates the episode in its entirety. This one was a good ol' Moffat again and it had a lot more spirit of the 'real' Doctor Who than the other ones of this series had. I'm pretty distraught with the fact that there were only five episodes though. I hope the next companion actor/actress will have a bit more calm to them - Rory and Amy were fun, but in comparisson to the companions I know, they were a lot of crazy. Still, it worked with Matt Smith, but I'd like to see something a little bit different now.

While this is very true in itself, I still think Blink worked the best. They're just not as scary anymore as they were there. Blink, the episode itself, was inspired by horror movies too, you could clearly see that, and that's the perfect setting for a character like the Weeping Angels. However, not even this last episode, albeit rather good at trying, could bring back the suspension that their original debut episode had.
That's my view on the works... now we'll just wait until Christmas I guess.

I agree completely, what I meant is that I felt the Angels were better portrayed in here than in The Time Of Angels/Flesh and Stone.
Blink will still be their best episode in terms of the fear factor though.

I agree, the angels just weren't scary in The Time Of Angels/Flesh and Stone.

Bumping.
I know Shroobie avoids trailers, but I'm wondering if anyone else has seen the latest trailer for the Xmas Special, it aired during the Children In Need telethon.

Double Post, but thought I'd just like to say that today marks the 49th Anniversary of Doctor Who, the 50th Anniversary looms closer...

Awesome! I wonder what special tricks they will pull out next year, then. They can't possibly not do something for an anniversary like that.
I just realised what might very well be the worst thing about 2012, if in fact the doomsday thing turns out to be true: we will have been 4 days short on seeing the next Doctor Who Christmas Special! What travesty!

I wonder if there will be another special with multiple Doctors.

Probably will be, but with much more grandeur than the minisode that was Time Crash.

Double-Post, I know...
I was browsing around and I found these:

And one can actually procure one:

Of course, it is costly, but, it is rather awesome...

The link is to another pic of the TARDIS, not the actual website.
But HOLY HELL I WANIT NOEWAH. And I could infinitely upgrade it too; so much space in there to add cards and cards and cards! Better try to keep that Chameleon Circuit frazzled or I might not be able to find it the next time I look down to open the disc tray.

Right, fixed that, link is now what it should be.
And oh boy, of course, I doubt you could get some hardcore stuff in there, but the fact you can get something like this...it, well, I...I can't really express my bewilderment and joy.
But then reality bites me in the arse and reminds me I don't have the funds to procure such an awe-inspiring item.

Oh dear Timelord that is expensive. Please let us buy it and travel back in time to put money in our bank accounts fifteen years ago so we can afford this now.

It's too bad I can't discuss with - as soon as I see the big red letters, I know I shouldn't read on for my own enjoyment's sake. Thanks for those, Master, but also, sorry that I avoid the topic because of them.
I'm looking forward to the Christmas episode! I have absolutely no clue what's in store for us after it and what the new season brings. I hope the new eps won't be so Earth-orientated. Doctor Who should be about the Universe, not just Earth and stuff coming to Earth to blow it up. It should be about the mysterious and wondrous other worlds out there too.
