Jazz the Jackrabbit was clearly inspired by Sonic the Hedgehog. He is just as fast and erratic, and I think the developers mentioned it as an inspiration specifically. Even the title follows the same pattern ("Name the Animal").

It wasn't clear from your question whether you were looking for just one series or multiple series, but I think this is the most obvious and well-known one.

That was gonna be my answer as well, but you beat me to the punch. I've personally played a lot of the second and third game of the series the most, so I knew he was in fact the organizer of both of those. I can still hear his voice lines in my head from the third game this very day.
