Totally agree. What the heck they were thinking when scrapping this and many more cool music and characters?

Element scrapping is really common in games though for all sorts of reasons (usually time constraints) so I'm not really shocked about the stuffed scrapped from Origins tbh.

Yep, I was just talking on Deviantart just now about all the scrapped content in Rayman 1 (and Megaman 2, although that's a different story ), so it's really not a rare thing at all. It's just often a shame once you find out about it and think "I wish it was in the final!". Although alongside sadly scrapped content, there's always the things that were removed for good reason, helping to refine a final product. I think a great example of this is actually the 1-up from Rayman Origins. Although the sprite is pretty cute and it would have been nice to see it in game, along with it comes a redundant and frustrating life system, which I think would have made the game challenging in a pointlessly frustrating way as opposed to in a balanced fun way. At least there's no evidence that they were going to add the infamous continues system into Origins !

From that statement, I will probably hate the story.

Not exactly, there was a bit more to it, but I'll try not to remember it now.

If I recall, the story originally involved a passionate gamer kid called Jimmy Cliff who created his own virtual friend called Rayman who lived inside his computer in the world of Hereitscool. When the world gets taken over by an 'evil power', he warps inside the game becoming Rayman in order to save all of his other friends inside the world. Weird
The funny thing is, my brother recalls people talking about this story (or at least one scarily similar to it) at primary school years ago, so I guess they found the really old advertisements with it inside. The thing was, if that was the case, they took it as gospel, believing it to be the actual true story

I'm glad it got drastically changed, the story. I don't think the series would be the same if Rayman was still named Jimmy and being a human.

Who knows what the Rayverse would have been like if that idea remained in place...

That is rated 1 out of 10.

The idea sounds very much like some kid would think of when they are quite young. Maybe the bordering-teenage Ancel thought up Rayman this way? Maybe this also explains the Rabbids; the 'wacky spell' that inspired this first version of the character also inspired the Rabbids. The only difference being that the Rabbids didn't move past that.

I was watching a walkthrough for the 3DS port of Rayman Origins, and as Haruka asked, Yes this version does have achievements 20 or so I think all of them seem to be taken from the PS3, 360, and Vita versions. And there also seems to be what looks like character bios too.

All the other versions had "bios" of sorts anyway, grabbing the Bubble Dreamer's beard will cause him to give some dialogue about the character.

How could they scrap this Masterpiece of a Boss Music.
I swear I've listened to The Final Showdown at least 1000 times according to the last time I checked the count on iTunes. I mean seriously, best scrapped music from RO IMO. Oh well, at least it pumps me when I'm thinking.
