Re: What games are you currently playing?
I'm currently playing Mirror's Edge, Dreamfall: The Longest Journey and Psychonauts (again).
I enjoy Mirror's Edge a lot, and it's suprisingly zen... I would have expected it to stress me more, but somehow it doesn't. Sometimes it's difficult to manoeuvre because of the first person view, and accidents happen... all of the time... But I manage. With a bit of patience.
What makes me want to continue this game, I think, is the story more than the gameplay, though.
Dreamfall is fun, though once again the plot is what drives me. The camera and the controls are quite wonky, and at times it feels more like watching a movie than playing a game. And some parts has some really, really long dialogue sequences that are just incredibly boring to watch. They should at least have varied the expressions a little, because as it is, you're watching blank, stiff faces with mouths that move up and down.
Also my version didn't come with the option for the original (Norwegian) language, what the hell. >:(
Not much to say about Psychonauts except that it's the best game ever!

Been addicted to Zoo Tycoon 2 over the holidays, I don't really see where that came from though, since it came out a million years ago...

Currently playing Sonic Adventure DX
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I can't ever really get into any of the 3D Sonic games... Even the ones that are considered above average or good. :\ The high speed of the camera somehow makes me feel sick. Even with Sonic Unleashed, he felt like he moved too fast. And then with Sonic Adventure, every single task seems pointless, and with the little city tasks and the like, I just want to find "the game part of the FUCKING GAME!" (as put by Yahtzee)
Anyway, been playing Final Fantasy IV for the DS when I've been bored (not an action game, but I can get into it when I'm in the right mood). Aside from that, just been working on my own for now.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I think I played through one level of Sonic and the Secret Rings or whatever, went
, and traded it in for something else. I totally agree about him moving too fast. You can't really do a thing in those games, just wave the controller around and hope you don't crash in anything and that you are jumping at the right time.
I think I'm almost at the end of Mirror's Edge now. Not progressing so fast because I haven't felt like playing much. This is also one of those games where you just have to hope you are jumping at the right time because you can't see the ground disappearing under your feet. And then she falls down and you hear this disgusting crunching noise, ugghhh haha.

I totally agree with you... I think that the only funny games of Sonic are the classic ones of SEGA Mega Drive. When he passed to 3D it lost the fun.Phoenixan wrote:I can't ever really get into any of the 3D Sonic games... Re: What games are you currently playing?
I have Sonic Jam on my Japanese Saturn because those really were the good games. I did really like the Sonic Adventure series and even Sonic Heroes for a while though grew out of them. Shadow the Hedgehog was okay, though if I wanted something edgy I wouldn't be playing a Sonic game (not to mention how the edginess makes it incredibly cheesy). I even tried out the Sonic the Hedgehog (Xbox 360) demo back in the day (was on a monthly OXM demo disc) and I could barely control him. That's between very touchy controls, him moving too fast, and the fact that they actually managed to make the camera worse. I couldn't stand more than about 5 minutes of that...
I was just playing Counter-Strike [1.6] with the GunGame mod (kinda deathmatch-ish). The auto-leveling up system means not everyone's always using AWPs too, which makes me happy.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I remind to play Sonic Heroes and I didn't like it. The speed made me
.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I've got Sonic Rush (DS)... I completed the first level by keeping my thumb on the right arrow button.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
That is... boring.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I have Sonic Unleashed and, as with most people, I love the day stages and hate the night stages. Chip is OK, but I wish characters like Knuckles and Big were in it.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
People say that is another weak game...
Re: What games are you currently playing?

Re: What games are you currently playing?
The Super Nintendo--right now Contra III, though I've been playing others as well.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Yeah, I have Sonic Rush myself. The first level (for Sonic, since for Blaze, the levels are in different order) is dull like that, unless you go for score or something (what's the point in that though?). A lot of the other levels are good though, and it gets harder as you go along.Acarr wrote:I've got Sonic Rush (DS)... I completed the first level by keeping my thumb on the right arrow button.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Yeah I noticed- I got stuck on the second level.
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Considering the first level doesn't teach you anything unless you've played Sonic Advance before or something.
The final boss is cheap though.
Cheap as all hell.
He'll kill you in one hit, regardless of how many rings you've got.

Re: What games are you currently playing?
Did it? I used to play the original Zoo Tycoon like 10 years ago (it's awesome), but when the sequel came out, I wasn't interested in getting it. I got Zoo Tycoon DS last year but it ended up being in Japanese or something, fuck!Acarr wrote:Been addicted to Zoo Tycoon 2 over the holidays, I don't really see where that came from though, since it came out a million years ago...
Re: What games are you currently playing?
A friend had had it given as a birthday present or something, and so playing it, I got it myself. ^^ Seriously though, it's so much better with expansion packs.
