Got a Meowstic? Their appearance is much different depending on the gender, and it is unique in that the genders get different movesets (Males more defense-based, female offense--based).

Is X & Y mostly touch screen? (for those who have it)

It has quite a fair chunk of touchscreen features like Super Training and Pokemon Amie but for the most part it's mostly top screen or both touch and control pad compatible.

Thanks

So do you still use the d-pad to walk around and stuff?

Pretty much. Well you can use both the d and circle pad.

Ah... I was kinda hoping you could move around on the touch screen. The d-pad hurts my fingers after a while..

Idk I mind from Animal Crossing DS that moving with the touchscreen gets annoying after a while. The circle pad isn't so bad though, if you don't mind roller skates (Ofc you can turn those off but meh).

So what's the general feeling towards X & Y, we liking it?

The responses I've heard in general are overwhelming positive, to the point where I crave a 3DS.

Only real complaint i've heard is that some find it too easy but yes, positive for the most part.

I started watching a lets play on youtube but I never carried on for some reason haha
I just get that feeling with these new age pokemon games that it's worth holding back for a good while, because you know something better is round the corner. Like black and white 2 etc

Tis hard what to say will happen next given that BW2 broke the chain of having a "re-boot" game. (Games like Crystal, Emerald and Platinum, Yellow doesn't count as it's meant to be RB only like the anime).
On a different note something I noticed in this game is that besides Looker there's been no character from other games. Like for example in BW/2 you where able to challenge Cynthia, and in HGSS you were able to met both Cynthia (via event mind you) and Steven Stone.

Cynthia was pretty tough on black and white, that spirittomb was a pain, really cool though

I remember her BW2 battle more. I had an Emolga as my main electric type and I put it up against her Milotic, naturally it was a pain because even the Pokemon that were weak against stood up to it better than what it did.
On another note i'm still hunting that shiny; although stinkingly I encountered Moltres 3 times while doing so.

Hahah well the encounters make it all alright then?
The only ever shiny I've ever had was on Fire Red and it was a gold Geodude.
