I believe the only established connection between the Glade and the Valley is that spiraldoor (I think) noticed that there is a valley in the corner of the map of the Glade which seems roughly the same shape as the Valley as pictured in R1's opening sequence.

My theory is that the valley is somewhere in the small islands of the archipelago:
There are 7 islands and any can be the Valley, aswell other regions of Rayman Origins as seen in the schematic map of the game. Curiously enough, none of the R2 levels depicted in the map I'm showing situates in any of the 7 islands.

Ah yes, it was thought for a while that the Blue and Iron Mountains were in a similar location, and the Woods of Light and Fairy Glade were connected to the Dream Forest. I guess that kind of makes sense, but maybe I just didn't pay enough attention in Origins.

We should talk about the canon in Zelda, it would be easier to explain.

That may indeed be, but unfortunately this is a Rayman topic.

Ah, the infamous issue of Zelda games. I saw somewhere an official chronology of the games.

Yeah, but the fanbase still ensures it has several canon problems lol. It's not like the chronology of Rayman is a problem, is more about the fidelity to the original story. I wouldn't think that much about canon in the Rayman series. Things change A LOT between each game.

I think some believe that mass of six islands which are closely situated at the bottom left to be the isles from RO, and the one in the middle left to be the valley.

We could always assume the effects of the confrontation between Rayman and Jano were such that it caused those involved to forget the events which occurred. The fact remains however, that Rayman's original purpose was to defeat Jano and the forces of the first bad dream.
Well I didn't though,about it. It's an interesting theory.
however "Rayman is the only limbless being" is still a retcon to Rayman 1.

Indeed, however, it is hard to imagine some of the R1 characters with limbs.
(Funnily, the Stone Men still retained their limblessness.)

But the islands are tiny, and the Valley's got mountains and rivers and such - shouldn't there be a bigger, vaster expanse of land to house the Valley?

But there is no scale to determine just how big the main island is, it could be the size of Africa for all we know.

A mistake I find in RR is the massive proximity of every level. Try to look to both the Front entrance with the level entrance. And now compare the distance of every place in the archipelago through the map.

The game isn't really consistent as to its size. From here it looks to be only a few miles long.

Or it could be one of those 10fov zoomed-in shots.

The mountains do look a bit bendy for a mountain's point of view.
I guess spiral is right. That bendiness is probably just a cartoony style.

Aren't those type of shots usually distorted in a circular manner around the edges?

Nay, those are high field of view shots. Ten is very low and zoomed in. Our human eyes see at a FoV of approximately 35, but film and games typically use 60 as a way of faking our wide peripheral vision. Imitating the human eye in games would require twice the rendering power.

So...is the issue resolved?
Are we in agreement that the island could house the valley?
