Gran Turismo 4. I played 3 a lot more but I honestly can't say I'm a fan of sport due to the absent career.

Probably slow calming sounds. They are a lot more comfortable to listen to and more exciting in a way.

Health bars. More retro looking and San Andreas went back to it after Vice City.

The 1up idea. I think that is a thing with Super Mario Platformer games. And it seemed something worth-while to do in order to stand a chance.
The Pirahna Plant item in Mario Kart 8 OR Chain chomp item from Double Dash? (Wham wham..I think it is called that)

Chain chomp item from Double Dash. I love that game so much. In fact, now I have to buy it again. Best Mario Kart I've ever played.
