< just watched the new Top Gear, and < has to say...it wasn't that bad. Don't get < wrong, < is definitely missing the old crew, and there's some things < isn't so fond of in this new incarnation, but given it's first days, < hopes that they'll find their grounding in due time. Either ways, <'s going to be watching the new 'un on Amazon regardless, so screw-up or not, <'s sure <'ll be able to get the Top Gear spirit, even if it's not from Top Gear itself.

< wasn't fond of how hyperactive Chris Evans was in the studio, while it's true his voice isn't quite as commanding and deep as Clarkson's was, < really felt that hyperactivity was kinda overcompensating, he's not too bad in the films, and his enthusiasm was clear. < did like Matt LeBlanc, though he didn't seem quite as enthusiastic in the studio, he was pretty enjoyable on the filmed stuff.

The jabs about the previous series were also kinda offputting, < would rather they left that baggage behind.

In honesty, mixing the current logo with the older bow doesn't seem to work to <, they just seem to clash, though maybe it's just <. As for the current era logo, < doesn't really mind it, < likes the little wormhole icon, < just misses the days when the intro looked like this:
The current intro isn't so bad, but it just feels a little underwhelming. < wonders if that's signifying.

How is a rainbow uninspiring and dull? It's the most colourful thing you can choose as a design...
The new one is a basically monochrome greyish blue swirl.
Then again < probably liked the old one out of nostalgia more than anything so <'s probably biased

< says you can do more with a rainbow, but just making an arc is really dull. You can do so much more. At least with the newer logo it's much more distinctive and recognizable.
