I like Mr Dark's moustache, he looks older, making clear that a lot of years have passed since Rayman 1.

That mustache does look rather classy, but it doesn't agree with me.

Those are fantastic drawings.

Would love to imagine a game with that drawing style.

Ok so I beat the main story on the 3DS version and....they actually skipped that chase level after the dance sequence.

Really? Hmm, interesting.
Could the smaller screen have been a factor?
Did they omit any other sections as far as you know?

That was the major thing they changed. A lot of the levels have been modified though in terms of taking out some enemies. Some of the tricky treasures have been dumbed down quite a bit. One example is the second ice treasure. There are no small platforms, it's pretty much impossible to mess up during that later half. Oh and in "On Top of old Smokey" they have only ONE fish flying in that vertical section. The rest of that section is pretty much a ghost town. I think it's because there would have been too much action. Maybe the 3DS isn't that powerful or something? But yes, there are definitely small changes here and there that are noticeable. Even Little Daisy changes her dialogue. She says "Many thanks!" instead. I was looking forward to the vegan quote.

The 3DS is indeed the console with the weakest hardware of all the consoles where the game was released, so what you would expect?

Doesn't the lagging and pixelization tell a lot?

3ds couldn't handle the ubiart software, I guess.

Makes me curious as to what they did with the Land of the Livid Dead.

Yea I'm going to attempt getting the final tooth later tonight. Should be interesting. One change that I like is that they made Dark Rayman and Glombrox more easily unlockable. 150 and 200 electoons needed to unlock them.

Why would they change Daisy's dialogue? That doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Also, doesn't Jungle Run work perfectly on phones? This tells me that it's not the engine that's incompatible with smaller, less powerful devices. I smell a bad porting job.

So much for getting the last tooth later tonight. I managed to get it just now and then went on to finish The Land of the Livid Dead. Yep, there were a few changes. The most noticeable one is the super fast snake ride. It's been modified a bit to make it easier I guess. That hand grabbing dude is also missing from that section. I struggled so much at the gears part. I'm so used to the console version so I think there's a small change at one point and that kept messing me up. The fire parts are normal just with a little bit less/delayed fire. And then the boss fight....yeesh my first five tries were bad, bad, bad. It seems like there's some sort of glitch after the ring slides to the left or something. I don't know but I eventually beat it. And then....another dialogue change! This time she says "Way to go team!". lol What is she referring to?
And the credits begin to roll but I can't bust them up and....there is no music.

I think you've 100% convinced my decision towards not buying the 3ds port until it's cheap as ever.
I really want to know why they made the decision of porting it towards the 3ds, I was excited at first, but when I had played the demo my mood changed quickly, what I mean is, I seriously want to know why they had chose to port it towards the 3ds though, they didn't even take a look in the process of making it and think "hm, this doesn't seem like it'll cut it" or did they just do this simply because they wanted to make more money? I'm surprised the game even plays properly, I guess 3ds really can't do Rayman Origins. But in my opinion it would have been better off just leaving the 3ds port alone, I will be getting the vita version soon, the way it SHOULD be played on the go.
Edit: Though I think we can ALL agree that the top 3 worst Rayman ports are(in no particular order):
-Rayman 3 HD
-Rayman DS
-Rayman Origins 3ds

For a company that loves being lazy and porting all their games they release a lot of shitty versions. Rayman 3D gets advertised for being an old game available in 3D, yet a launch game, what you'd expect would be showing it off, was unable to to do any of that. Basically It's Rayman DS: The Version That Actually Looks Like A Game. Overall It's just disappointing to see how many times they failed to make a decent port of a great game, and that even some that are ported 10+ times still have the same flaws. Rayman Origins for the 3DS is without a doubt a cash-in on good work.

Origins designs are all simplistic. That there, was detailed.

I hope if they ever get the will of doing another R2TGE port, please for god's sake port the Globox Village.

Totally agree. Dreamcast version is the best.

^.
I just think that the artists weren't that nicely picked in terms of content, not the quality of the art. I already said and still think that most art in RO is too much earthling.
