I still have the PS2 version of Rayman Raving Rabbids lying around somewhere. I was looking for it earlier but I couldnt find it though. My sister put it on eBay but no-one bought it. The controls are so frustrating and hard, it's not remotely fun at all.

Also, I ended up with Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 for DS by mistake. But it's alright. Some of the minigames are fun but others are frustrating and pointless.
Still, I'd rather have the first Raving Rabbids game on DS. The platformer.

I also think the controls are difficult when it comes to playing on the PS2. Take the running minigame where Rayman has to deliver a birthday present...it involves moving each stick up and down at high speed. Whaat?

Yeah, that's the minigame that pissed me off the most. It was just painful and humiliating.. not fun at all!
I'd rather they used Rayman's normal controls to deliver the present before the time runs out. The controls are f***ed up on the PS2 version. I imagine it would work well on the Wii, but I don't think I'll ever get the Wii version.

If you ask me it was a crazy thought to ever release it on any console besides the Wii. As you said, it's no fun at all really.

In any case, I'd like to see a platformer too.
*looks up post info* Apparently Fat Mario is in Poland so yeah, really far [mind I sent a pack to Australia once and four days later the buyer said it already arrived o.0].

You shouldn't say something is crap if you're trying to sell it.

I wonder if serza is yet aware of the postage costs :P Not that expensive, but probably more than what you're paying for it.

Trade them in for a game you want then, TVP is fairly new so you might get a bit of money off then.

I don't know what game I want though q: apart from R2 but you can't get that at a game store.

I'm willing to guess that each of these Rabbid games gets worse reviews and worse sales every year. Just a guess. Raving Rabbids was an acceptable idea, okay, it's only a spin-off and that isn't disrupting anything. Raving Rabbids 2, oh come on, a sequel? Well fine, but surely this is the last. Raving Rabbids TV Party? F**k off.

Why did they make R4 a party game anyway. WHYYY.

RRR is not R4. 'Nuff said.

Rayman hasn't been too popular with many magazine reviewers right from the beginning though. Yes, there have been some that game each game at least an 8/10 or 80%, but those sorts of reviewers [mainly men in their late 20's that try too hard to be funny] are hard to impress anyway.

The public pay no attention to them however, and just buy the game anyway, whether or not they've been given a 3 or a 10. Rayman Rush had one of the lowest ratings ever for a Rayman game but people still bought it in their thousands. I don't need these guys to tell me what to buy, I just get whatever game I think is interesting and will be fun and last me for ages.

Guys. Question.

I'm serious here, so think hard.
Would you honestly trust Ubisoft. Ubisoft. to make a decent fuck-yeah awesome Rayman 3d platformer in one year. Thats one, as in a single, year.

Think about their recent major releases (Shaun White (not SW:RT, the HD version), Far Cry 2, Assasains Creed, Endwar, PoP 2008) and think about the question again. Do not try to use other companies to fuel your answer. Don't think about Radical or Good-Feel. Think solely about Ubisoft

I await your responses.

No, making a decent platformer would take at least 2 year...
They shouldn't rush, i'd prefer to wait and then have a good platformer then that it will come out in 1 year and it is bad.
I'd like an anoouncement this year tough ^^

I'm going to take a very negative attitude to this question: I reckon we won't get a decent Rayman platformer until 2012. At least.
It's been six years now since the last quality platformer, and its predecessor was released about four years further back. We've already gone overtime.

The likelihood does rather suggest we'll be getting more rabbid (yes, I'm not even going to capitalize it) games, considering how well the past ones have sold. Although they ARE arguably good games, they're definitely not satisfactory in my mind of a Rayman game. And after those releases we may even get an even crumbier Rayman game, so... yeah.

The question was asked because of all the hate that seems to stem from RRR2 specifically. Its not like if they put out a platformer that year instead that it would have been a good one.

It's not dependent on the time though, it's dependent on the gameplay and storyline. At the time Ubisoft chose to fabricate a series of party games as opposed to a very decent platformer (which would have been new and fantastic for the Wii), but I believe their failings lie solely through this decision - I don't think a crappy Rayman platformer WOULD have been designed if not for the replacement.

According to some Mayan prophecy, 2012 will be the end of the world and the dawn of a new age. This may be because Rayman 4 will be very, very good.
