Re: Rayman Legends
Sir Rayelot and Rayomz are just Rayman in a knight's armor and without clothes, respectively.
I'm not sure what Raymolk is, though.

Re: Rayman Legends
Raymolk is Rayman when he stops caring about his personal hygiene.

Re: Rayman Legends
I'm sure this is just my head canon, but I kinda want to bring back a theory of my own that I mentioned months back, that I think would make more sense. It's that the different alter egos of Rayman are alternate versions that hail from the different worlds in each of the paintings, excluding Raybox and Raymesis (or Bad Rayman if you prefer). The paintings are supposed to tell stories, correct? So it's safe to assume that all these versions of Rayman are alternate versions of him from the stories. As for the Magician... yeah, got nothin'. I just see his most recent incarnation as a defective Teensie.
Re: Rayman Legends
Yeah...I don't believe there are two Magicians. There has only been one.

Re: Rayman Legends
welp, let's look at the bright side. Discussing a odd error in rayman canon is nothing when compared to people arguing over details about the elusive Great Mushroom War in Adventure Time.
Re: Rayman Legends
Besides, the Rayman Canon is loaded with odd errors. Some of us don't even have much idea of what the Rayman Canon really is.

Re: Rayman Legends
@Gwee, sadly, while that idea would've worked before, the paintings telling a story idea was scrapped and replaced with another Nightmare Crisis, essentially.

Re: Rayman Legends
Damn it, your right. But I still hold out some hope that the original idea is still there somewhat, lying underneath.Master wrote:@Gwee, sadly, while that idea would've worked before, the paintings telling a story idea was scrapped and replaced with another Nightmare Crisis, essentially.
Re: Rayman Legends
I have no idea whether the Rayman skins in Legends are separate characters or just alter egos/AUs of Rayman. For reasons I can't be bothered explaining, I'm actually not entirely sure if I would prefer if they were separate characters, but I still very much prefer the idea of Rayman not being the only member of his species. You don't have to be the only member of your species to be unique, and in my opinion Rayman was actually more unique in the first game than he is now.

Re: Rayman Legends
Rayman was more unique in the first game because unlike other "limbless" he had powers Betilla gave him so he could fight.

Darn, I got the forum's code and DeviantArt's codes mixed up. I knew it would happen eventually.Adsolution wrote:Nice one.THEdragon wrote:not
Yeah. Now he just seems like one character of a large handful of heroes with the same abilities, who was lucky enough to get the game named after him. I understand that this was for the sake of multiplayer, though.OldClassicGamer wrote:Rayman was more unique in the first game because unlike other "limbless" he had powers Betilla gave him so he could fight.
Re: Rayman Legends
We should also keep in mind the redesign of other "limbless" characters like Livingstones, Darktoons, etc. Maybe this influenced more the idea of the Magician being a Teensie now.

Re: Rayman Legends
Despite this 'apparently' not being the case, given that multiplayer only allows one player to choose Rayman (mostly applicable to Origins) and that they had all the limbless characters redesigned to have limbs, I still sort of see those all as being the same heroes in different skins. I think that if they were to be canonical about it, they would still state that Rayman is the only one of his species.
Re: Rayman Legends
I love how some people say "The Teensy Magician is more that 120% the R1 magician",but then they say Rayman,Rayomz and the other Raypeople are the same character, even when the game directly stats that they are different characters(at least Rayomz).
Re: Rayman Legends
I'm going to try not to think about Rayman Canon too much more, I'm just about scrambling my brains here!

Re: Rayman Legends
The manual never specifies that the Magician is a different character, so it's pretty safe to assume that he's the same character going by the currently existing canon, just like how no one argues that Origins Betilla is a different Betilla. My head-canon (ROTD) has both iterations of Betilla being separate characters (Mother/Daughter), but that's not a part of the official canon, so any logic I try to assume to piece it together will not be applicable to the official canon unless it were blatantly obvious.TFDs39 wrote:I love how some people say "The Teensy Magician is more that 120% the R1 magician",but then they say Rayman,Rayomz and the other Raypeople are the same character, even when the game directly stats that they are different characters(at least Rayomz).
Re: Rayman Legends
I'm not saying they are not the same character. What I'm saying is how people consider the 2 Magicians the same, but that is nowhere stated and consider Rayman and Rayomz the same Rayperson, even when the game say they are the different characters.

Re: Rayman Legends
Ah. Well, while you can't deny what the instructions say, you can put up a feasible argument as to whether or not the developers fully thought this through, given that they completely redesigned almost all of the Rayman 1 characters to have limbs so that Rayman would be the only of his kind in Origins. Maybe that hundred-year nap lead to Polokus needing to repopulate the Glade with heroes until they woke up.
Fuck, head-canon territory. I hate doing that outside of the designated topic.

Re: Rayman Legends
Ladies and gentlemen, give some good applauses for the inconsistencies of the Rayman universe!
