I plan on moving to Europe in 1.5 - 2 years, and to me, Europe is a single locale with zero travel distance between its countries.

Don't worry, I have a tendency to find musicals quite boring for the most part (I guess this was the case with a lot of opera-goseers before Wililbald Gluck came around). There are certainly exceptions however.

Good opera on the other hand is a sight to behold.

It instills an immediate sense of comfort and purpose if some have trouble hitting it off from the get-go.

Like, dude, we can eat. It's not like we all meet at St Pancras and immediately go the Coliseum. Plus, people don't tend to go to the theatre alone, the fun is in sharing the experience with friends! Oh god, if Les Patineurs is on in two years time we are GOING THERE.
