After watching Bambi and Bambi II yesterday... I have no idea what to feel, but I feel a lot like him right now. I don't know. I loved my aunt and uncle.
Oh my... I'm so sorry... My condolences. :(

This might sound crazy but if I'm not in error, 2 months ago, 5 members of my family died in the same week. It was a creepy feeling.

I'm so sorry Rayfan. All I can do is wish the best of luck to your family and pray that everything goes well for your uncle and mom. Stay strong okay?

I've just read that Gamestop will close their stores in Portugal, they are even doing discounts of stock-off in every product from what I read. Will something similar happen with other European countries?

I admit I only went once to one Gamestop, but the prices of the games weren't much different from GAME. I still am prefering eBay.

I really don't care for Gamestop, to be honest. I prefer a nice locally ran game shop here for new and old games. As old as the Atari!

Plus I have plenty of online shopping options.

You looked to be alright when we chatted in the IRC. :|

The only time I went, I've just checked the prices, but it was not significantly different from the other shops.

I prefer eBay above all.

A lot of used games I bought in the past from Gamestop had scratches... and they never really cared.

The local game shop, however, takes real good care of their customers. If I picked out a game that has some scratches, they'll fix it right up with their machine every time. So I like supporting the locally owned shops. :)

I have 3 gamestops all within 5 minutes of each other. And they are all kinda rude when you go in. Why the heck the smallest one thats no bigger than my dorm room needs five employees working there I will never know.

I hear there is a local game place that specializes in older games, including atari, but I have yet to find this place

It's no loss here. There are no Gamestops in the Netherlands, as far as I know.

Same. Hell, I didn't even know about Gamestop until about two years ago. Over here we use Electronics Boutique (EB Games).

We never had a gamestop here though there is a UK website... I heard GAME are starting to struggle here though and I'm like GEE I WONDER WHY, oh ffff everyone goes in CeX or buys online now.
@ Danone: what's SOPA got to do with this?

Online has become so popular for new and used games, but with that... wasn't there some type of rumors floating around how game companies are trying to forbid the sale of a used game?

Our game store here said it's illegal to sale any used PC games, here in the states. :?

Economical crisis also forces consumers to start to look for better buying options: the internet of course. I already started to trade physical shops for online ones because of the giant pricing differences, especially for games which have already some "age". (Come on, I still see games like Super Smash Bros Brawl for 50€... Wake up Nintendo.) I only buy now in physical shops when I do not find better pricing alternatives in online shops.

I admit also that physical shops have tendency to go crazy with the prices, but they often own games that I'm not looking for, or games based up in movies that just have entered in the cinemas. :?

Now about forbiddings, in Portugal renting video games is illegal for example. We are forced or to try demos, trying full version games in exposition in shops or buying the game. Another reason for the games here boosting the prices is because of a stupid pink sticker that does not exist neither in France or in UK:

Retail shops do need to start to think in a new marketing policy or strategy if they want costumers back, because everyone is starting to turn to online due to the highly competitive prices.

What does the sticker say?
