No, really? I could have sworn I was staring at a tomato with a nose, ears, and hair.

Sorry to interrupt this funny discussion, but I'm dealing with some trouble with my recording equipment (desktop recording equipment, that is). I've uploaded a video describing the results of this problem quite well. Warning: disturbing and unpleasant sounds will be heard. Turn your speaker volume down.

Please read the description of the video to read about my problem or please redirect me to somewhere where I can get some help for this if you can't solve it.

Thanks a lot,
Shrooblord

have you had issues recording sound before? I am not an expert on desktop recording, but it could just be that FRAPS is just too much on your computer to properly record the sound. I hear it is a very resource heavy software. You might want to try some other recording program to see if it is FRAPS giving you the issue or your computer itself. The full version of hypercam 2 is free.

Thanks for the recommendation, but HyperCam can apparently only run at 10 FPS - and then it skips and doesn't record the sound correctly either. :boon:
I must have a crap computer.

WIN XP SP3
AMD Processor Model Unknown
3.01 GHz, 2.00 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extention

Not actually true. Hypercam is a wonderful recording program, you just need the DivX codec, which while it is a pain to download, works wonders in recording. I can record with it at 30 fps with no problem. The file is just huge

Speaking of divx, can you select the codec you want in FRAPS? Maybe try divx. It is basically THE codec to have for computer recording

The problem? Your game's output volume is way too fucking high, it's clipping like mad. Go into the volume panel in Windows and turn down Rayman Arena's to at least a quarter of what it is currently.

There's nothing you can do to fix the already recorded audio, that's like saying you can change someone's accent with editing software. You'll have to record it again with the above in mind.

If you're wondering, normalization cannot make audio quieter, only louder.

Also, by any chance is that the copy I uploaded?

That's odd, I'm sure I have it already. Do I have to select its location somehow?
EDIT:
Nevermind, I found it in HyperCam's codec list. There's a problem though: I keep getting the error 'video compression error'. I've tried fiddling with a lot of DivX's options, but no good results. I'll try some more.

However, this all will help prevent failure in the future, but what I really want is to solve the problem I have with my currently recorded video... If only there were a normal way to normalise the sounds.
