What? No, I have Rayman M myself.
As for your other suggestions, thanks, but what exactly do you mean by turning down the Windows sound for a specific game? I can turn down the Windows sound output normally by clicking that loudspeaker icon, but I don't think that's what you meant.

Too bad to hear about the sounds. I'll just put a Henchman 800 soundtrack to my video then and edit in some sound files from Rayman M myself.

EDIT:
Damnit I've got to stop doing this double-posting nonsense.

There is a big problem with hypercam where you need to have the dimensions of the window within the dimensions of whatever quality you are trying to record at. Hypercam is poo when recording the entire screen. So just see what the description of the certification profile is and try to make sure the dimensions are equal to or lower.

Ah. I would have never got that. Thanks. I found a new problem now though: it didn't record any sound this time, at all. My Record Sound from: option is enabled and I simply selected the 'SoundMAX Audio HD' option, which is the only one other than 'Default'.

Do you have the volume muted on your computer? If the volume is muted, it will not record the sound

Of course not. :P
I would be hearing that. No, it doesn't want to record anything, also not on the Default profile. What's more, there's a lot of in-between renders in my video; when I play back the video, I can see a lot of things flashing (such as objects, textures, HUD interfaces, basicly, everything but the stage itself) in and out as if they haven't been drawn yet in a lot of frames. I've tried lowering the framerate a bit, that helped a teensy bit. I'll try lowering it some more and I'll get back to you if I've solved that.

EDIT:
The flickering got worse as I lowered the framerate. I also got the sound working at 8-bit, but the result is far worse than with FRAPS, which is odd especially since I now turned down my PC's master volume to a quarter of the full gague, following RayFan's advice.

Very strange. I have not encountered anything like that. Although, to be fair, I've only used it to record emulators up to the ps1 with no problem.

Edit: you could try messing with the bit rate. I have mine set to 720HD, 1 pass, 3000 kbps.

I edited my above post too - maybe there's something there that someone can look at.
Oh well, I'll just go and mute the sound from my recording then and try to replicate the sounds as accurately as I can myself. By hand. :tssk:

What are your settings and what are you trying to record? Maybe I can replicate what is going on and find a solution

Oh god, trying to lower the bitrate made it even worse! Even the level's geometry is flickering now.

Okay, here's my specs:
Screen capture area: Start X - 0, Start Y 0, width 1280, height 1040 (that's my full screen)

20 FPS record/playback speed
1 Full frame capture ratio
100 frames/keyframe
Frame compression quality 75%

Div 6.9.2 codec (2 Logical CPUs): 1080HD profile; 1-pass, 3000 Kbps - default settings for the rest

Record sound from SoundMAX HD Audio
2 channels - stereo
16 bit size sample
44100 samples per second

Sound fails to work. Changing sound to 8 bit size records sound, but in an even worse state than FRAPS does. Computer Master Volume set to 50%.

Trying to capture Rayman M.

Good luck and I hope you crack it! :(

I'm on Windows 7, but I think it's similar. When you click on the icon, there should be a "mixer" or "show volume panel" or something that you can click on, and it should then open up a bigger window with multiple faders.

There's 'Master Volume', 'Wave', 'SW Synth', 'CD Player', 'Microphone' and 'Line In'. CD Player is already quite low down, if that's the one you meant.

Yar, it ain't like Windows 7 then. On 7, it shows the volume of each individual programme. You can try turning down "Wave," though I don't know if that will work.

Alternatively, just go into the settings menu in the actual game and turn down the music and SFX to about 25%. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

I turned the sounds of the menu volumes down to 2/10 for both music and SFX, and the cracklings gone! Thanks. It's still reeeaallly loud and at some points there's a minor buzz of the speakers, so I'll tune a bit with that Wave setting and turn down the menu settings to 1/10. However, my problem's solved! I can continue using a recording software that doesn't bug up my graphics and actually records the sound accurately.
Sorry about that, BarkingChaos, but I think HyperCam just doesn't like my PC. A big thanks to all your help though!

It could just be its not powerful enough to record such highly detailed graphics. Like I said, I only use it for recording stuff that's 8 and 16 bit, so i really wouldn't know

I record my Revenge of the Dark gameplay videos with HyperCam, which is 2011 software. Rayman M is 2001-2002 software. The last thing I would ever call Rayman M is "highly detailed" (in terms of engine capacity, I mean).

I'm assuming it's either a problem with his "mic" input volume (which covers any recording of any kind), or there are some tricky settings in hypercam that haven't yet been found that were accidentally set.

To be honest, I have a very high suspicion of who Calamareye and her little buddy Change-Or-Die at deviant art really are. They know who I am, and I have a solid feeling I know who they are. Two women who are best friends, that both have one thing in common.... hatred against me. All the information I've seen adds up to a perfect match, I have little to no doubt in my mind anymore.

I'd call off names but some person(s) here at RaymanPC might try to be heros for me, I don't need white knights like Ryo does. :mefiant:

*Sigh* I don't understand. Wealthy people like her decide to follow the path of alcohol and drugs. If I had the money she had, I would enjoy life way better.
