+ New Muse single has settled in on my liking. I really like that sort of crunchy, nine inch nails sound, and the vibe is great. There's a severe level of cheesy going on around the lyrics, but I'm pretty sure this is more of a Survival type song where we're really not supposed to pick up any deeper meaning besides the grandeur of the over the top image. Admittedly I would have liked to have seen a bit more going on during the song, but I'm enjoying it so far. Now here's to waiting for these bastards to announce some touring dates in my area.

I completely agree with everything here. I think many are too fixated on the idea of them being weird and esoteric again - people seem to forget how comparatively shallow and repetitive the song Showbiz was, yet why do people like it? It's an awesomely fun song. Psycho is just like that, albeit less dark and edgy, and I can only imagine how great the live shows will be.Keane wrote:+ New Muse single has settled in on my liking. Though, if there is one particular element the song Showbiz has over Psycho and a lot of Muse's more recent tongue-in-cheek rock stuff, it's that it was very progressive, building up from a whisper to something absolutely batshit, whereas these are basically medium-heavy throughout. With that in mind, I have no doubt Drones will have a good variety with a couple of those weirder, darker edgier tracks in there as well.
Really? I think you usually sound relaxed and very well-spoken. However, I don't recall ever having even been in a chat with you, except maybe briefly a couple times on the IRC a while ago, but I can't remember.Keane wrote:- I never like the way I come across when I'm talking on a site with posts, rather than a chat. You're funny. I don't even watch Game Grumps, you fool. Tumblr is a shithole for that kind of crap anyways.Keane wrote:Don't be one of those angsty Game Grump commentors who purposely searches #feminism on tumblr until he's pissed offBradandez wrote:Wouldn't they be the more political accepted term!? Aww yeah! I'm guessing your paycheck varies then?
+ I've been thinking about the idea of every performance - including rehearsals etc. - being it's own self-contained realisation. Of there being no 'perfect' or 'true' interpretation to strive to. Of each performance becoming the perfect/true form of itself. I consider improvisation to be fundamental to the art in Arabic dance, so this isn't an entirely new concept to me, but it's one thing to think it and quite another to work by it. Besides, this also applies to choreography.
- I'm so self-analytical, constantly evaluating my work. So much, that I can tell I've improved at something when I'm unhappy with what I've done! And bearing that in mind, I don't know if I can relax enough to follow the above approach.
