You just wanna see my Facebook so you can stalk me, don't you?
You want to get rid of all but one of the artists who made the Rayman games what they were? Great! What could possibly go wrong?RayFan9876 wrote:The atmosphere is beyond phenomenal. We need Ancel to have this team creating Rayman for the love of everything that is good.
Also, the main character's name is Connor = my brother's name!
I've had that song stuck in my head ever since you showed it to me. It shows those guys really have a nack for creating a catchy melody with great lyrics.Rulez wrote:Planet Earth I need a friend 'cause I'm on the outside looking in, I'm an Alien.THEdragon wrote:No.Rulez wrote:Show me.THEdragon wrote:There a so many Spanish-speaking Gorillaz fans on my Facebook for some reason.

I'm just an Alien.
Feeling lost but never found 'till I found myself being pushed around, I'm an Alien.
Yes I'm an Alien.
Now brace yourself, le friend request will be coming soon enough.
As far as I can tell, either the artists have completely changed or he's been using a different team of people, because what Rayman is today doesn't resemble and ounce of what he used to be like.spiraldoor wrote:You want to get rid of all but one of the artists who made the Rayman games what they were? Yes, ever since McSwagger (Jesse Cale, Benetar, the blondie) joined the team, it got really earwormy.RayFan9876 wrote:I've had that song stuck in my head ever since you showed it to me. my reaction is on deviantart.... I want you to read it and say what you think of them nowHaruka wrote:I kindly ask for about 30 minutes of everyone's attention to watch this video from the beginning until the end, and sharing to other places too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc
Perhaps also Ancel's view on Rayman has changed over the years... even though I'm reluctant to even suggest it.RayFan9876 wrote:As far as I can tell, either the artists have completely changed or he's been using a different team of people, because what Rayman is today doesn't resemble and ounce of what he used to be like.
I don't even have to click the link and I know what that is, I watched it last night, and I've been sharing it.Haruka wrote:I kindly ask for about 30 minutes of everyone's attention to watch this video from the beginning until the end, and sharing to other places too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4MnpzG5Sqc

ok.El Dango wrote:I disagree 140%.RayFan9876 wrote: what Rayman is today doesn't resemble and ounce of what he used to be like.
Perhaps, but that almost makes me a little bit sad. Usually people move from silly and shallow to a more serious tone, whereas in Rayman, it's gone the complete opposite direction. That's what confuses me.Shrooblord wrote:Perhaps also Ancel's view on Rayman has changed over the years... even though I'm reluctant to even suggest it.RayFan9876 wrote:As far as I can tell, either the artists have completely changed or he's been using a different team of people, because what Rayman is today doesn't resemble and ounce of what he used to be like.
It has changed, sure, but the basic values have still been kept both regarding gameplay and style. Just because Rayman is portrayed in a goofier manner, uses short range attacks and can be killed in one hit doesn't mean the series is nothing like it used to be. If anything Origins has only brought the different games closer, especially the first and the second.RayFan9876 wrote:ok.El Dango wrote:I disagree 140%.RayFan9876 wrote: what Rayman is today doesn't resemble and ounce of what he used to be like.
Not really, considering the gameplay is nothing akin to the previous games. The quirkiness is still there though, but doesn't bare a strong resemblance. Not to say Origins isn't a good game, because it is a very good game, it's just that it seems slightly out of place, but not enough so that I would consider it to be an off-shoot. It's still somewhat faithful to the series, especially with all the references.El Dango wrote:It has changed, sure, but the basic values have still been kept both regarding gameplay and style. So what you're saying is that it does resemble an ounce of what it used to be?RayFan9876 wrote:Not really, considering the gameplay is nothing akin to the previous games. Merely an ounce, so to say, but not nearly a pound.El Dango wrote:So what you're saying is that it does resemble an ounce of what it used to be?RayFan9876 wrote:Not really, considering the gameplay is nothing akin to the previous games. Mjahahahaa!
I didn't see him as a totally goofy character in the original, mainly because he seemed to remain a determined face while playing, and the jumping animation facial expression is very detailed, and makes it look like he's a light-hearted but determined fellow who loves adventures and jumping; in my opinion that is. I guess he sort of has that feeling in Origins, but replace the determined look with a goofy look.Xenon wrote:If we're talking solely on the base of Rayman's appearance, I would say he's gone full circle. Originally he was goofy, then he went to being more serious, then more serious still, and now he's back to his goofy self.
I guess it also depends how you've grown up with the games. For me, RRR1 even held an atmosphere that Origins didn't have, but then RRR2 completely lost that because it landed on Earth. RRR1 even still had some serious elements to it, such as the dark graphical style of Rayman 2 and 3 and the mood of the prison/arena. But Origins just took a completely new style. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, it's just not so much one I like.Xenon wrote:In terms of the game's style though, it's maintained a magical, unique atmosphere throughout the series (apart from in RRR), in my opinion.
