Game Informer also confirms that Rayman Origins is quite literally an origin story, where "characters and references from past titles" will be used liberally, and where outstanding questions about characters, references and events can be answered. But prior knowledge isn't required. "It's more of a rebirth than a sequel," Ubisoft's Gabrielle Shrager told Game Informer. "There are Easter eggs for fans, but it's also a complete reintroduction for new kids. Anyone who's never played the game will have no trouble getting immersed."
This sounds almost too good to be true. They actually seem to be paying attention to how the games fit together and continuing the series in a logical manner – something we have never seen before. I wonder what ‘outstanding questions about characters, references and events’ will be answered by Rayman Origins – apart from the obvious question of Rayman’s origins, which were hinted at by the Knowledge of the World in Rayman 2. Perhaps we’ll get an explanation of the valley in relation to the Crossroads of Dreams, or confirmation that the Great Protoon is the Heart of the World. These are things I never imagined would be addressed, but they suddenly seem very plausible.

I love this Boxart. It's a shame tough that the PS3 one has been cropped.

(EDIT)
Do I see the Playstation Network logo. Man I hope this is online!

X360 box art, basically the same as Wii
Ubisoft's upcoming Rayman game has been listed online by retailer Amazon, revealing a North American release date of November 15.

Hopefully the European release date isn't too far from that.

The boxart looks okay, but once again it makes all the characters look completely stupid. I'm still hoping that the story will become serious during the game. Because only then it can become truly epic like Rayman 2 was.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy, I'm getting even more excited about this. X3
*Read the article*
When I get my hands on it I'll want to find every Easter Egg. I get so happy that R1, R2, R3 will all be connected together into one single game, and potential questions will be answered. It is the first time this happens in the Rayman gaming series, this really really promisses. I can't help in repeating this over and over. X3

Hang on yourself Quickie, Ubisoft still didn't confirm anything about Wii/3DS/PC even if here it says "Wii". I wonder if this is the final version of the cover, it might change up.

It's
available for pre-order on Amazon, it's definitely coming out for Wii.

I read that but, Ubisoft still didn't tell definitely anything. But perhaps you are right, Amazon wouldn't lie I think. Too bad it won't go to the PC, it should. At least they will release it for Wii then.

I'm going to save up now 60€ and saving them in the safe until the release date.

Wow a 10 pages article plus an interview with Michel Ancel! This day can't be any better.
By the way, I want that Rayman as my wallpaper. So cool.
I wonder if there will be a collectors edition of the game. That would be so cool.

That cover artwork is all right, but it’s just the American version. I’m sure we’ll get much a better cover over here in Europe; we always do.
It’s interesting how the cover shows the Magician Teensie in an orange outfit rather than a blue one. I wonder if that signifies anything (skins?) or if either the cover or the magazine are out of date.
Sidenote: Rayman Origins will feature walking shells, though they will not be the Robo-Pirate variety. Look closely at the missile concept artwork; they have legs.
