That port was almost unplayable due to the horrific touch screen controls, I couldn't even get past the marsh's of awakening LOL then a year later I got the 3DS port and that controlled beautifully an underrated port imo, though I'm sure they could have made it a port of rayman revolution just look how well ocarina of time translated to the 3DS! :P
The iOS port I find to be even more underrated than the 3DS port. Why? I had absolutely no problem with the touch screen controls, and I could play it just as well as any other version (no, that doesn't mean I'm terrible at every version). Thus it clearly isn't a problem with the port itself - which by the way had absolutely no glitches or downgrades and ran at 40-60 FPS - but just a lack of willingness to adapt to the control style. It could not have been done any better. I even have really long, spindly fingers, and that would technically make it harder for me to play, but I still had no problem.

Of course, for example, the PC version is factually worse than the Dreamcast version, it annoys me like mad when people constantly rip at certain ports for being 'bad,' especially when they literally could not have been done any better for the console they were ported to. Take the iOS version: it was flawless, many people just seem to suck horribly at using the touch screen - I do not. Now take Rayman Advance: This is a good port for the same reason the PlayStation version of Rayman 2 was a good port, because it compromised equally. A small portion of gameplay features had to be removed, and the graphics were also slightly downgraded. Smaller field of view? That's a give-in, considering Rayman needs to run at a fixed scale meshing with the Gameboy Advance's resolution. All the compromises made were akin to the ones made in Rayman 2, but there were even less of them made. Why is Rayman 2 PS1 usually praised for its efforts and Rayman Advanced hated for its efforts?

I was abducted by furfags asdfghjkl.

On-topic: I'm beginning to believe the Wii-U exclusivity is a mistake. We'll know well before the release.

Rayman 2 PS1 had lots of new content, and the music and graphics were good. Rayman Advance had zero new content, and the music and graphics were horrible.

Amazing direct feed of the e3 demo which shows a hidden room, kinda like the Magicians challenge games. Also, there are some screenshots posted on the facebook fanpage.

Here it is:

Rayman Advance(d) isn't so bad - I mean, it actually makes the game easier in places, which is why I tend to play it the most :mryellow:. I do tend to miss the lovely CD soundtrack while playing, but that can't be helped at all - it is a GBA after all. I like how RA's soundtrack takes a few of the elements from the original Jaguar soundtrack while mixing them with the CD soundtrack.

I'm liking this actually.
The Lividstone ambush with parachutes and ladders extremely reminds me of Revolution.
That was amazing! But I wonder how I could do if I didn't have any people to play with. I mean, if you have no Murfy... what?

Getting rid of those pointless little dances the characters do every single time they break a cage in Origins was a drastic improvement.

The soundtrack is half the appeal of the game. It’s just not worth playing without it.

The characters in Legends look much more detailed and naturalistic than they did in Origins. Now they actually feel like they’re part of the same universe as the backgrounds. This is a huge improvement. I disliked Origins’s flat, textureless Cartoon Network look from the very beginning. I grew to tolerate it but I never liked it. It still reminds me of this. Urgh.

Isnt it yet officially confirmed that RL will only be only for Wii U? Well then ill wait a bit and will see what happens.

I like the idea that you have to save Teensies instead of Electoons. When the situation of the world is worser (which it is in RL), the baddies concentrate more on the people (Teensies and Glutes) and other creatures instead of tiny energy sources, like Lums and Electoons. Its like in Rayman 2 where the situation is also much worse than in its prequel (R1) and you also save Teensies but also bigger creatures, even a big whale.

@ R2 discussion: For me the best Rayman game and also maybe the best game in the world is Rayman Revolution, which doesnt recreate the already amazing Rayman 2 (PC version), but makes it better by fixing its problems.

I do absolutely loved the new look they gave to Rayman's look on this game, it's much more beautiful and gives off more of that "Rayman" feel if you know what I mean, very nice! :D

I hope they are going to go for a mostly metal-centric soundtrack this time around. That would be delicious!
