Did anyone else immediately think of Super Mario 64?
Yes.

I liked it right up until the part where they got sucked into the paintings. I think it would have been better to just have them go on the adventure for the sake of curiosity and to expand their knowledge upon the unknown, foretold lands seen in the paintings.

Yes, I did.

Anyway, I think they're not doing the toys thing. It was "not the final product" according to Ancel (is he even working on this?) and his team. It looks like the potato enemies are scrapped too, in favour of the livingstone pirates.

I did. Pretty strange how they didn't just let it be another set of strange locations in the Glade, like in every previous game.

Maybe this is going to be the hub world.

Haruka wrote:Nice website. I like also the story. I'll write it up here:
Rayman, Globox, and the Teensies are off wandering through an enchanted forest when they discover a mysterious tent filled with a series of captivating paintings. As they look more closely, they notice each painting seems to tell the story of a mythical world. While focusing on a painting that shows a medieval land, they are suddenly sucked into the painting, entering the world, and the adventure begins. The gang must run, jump and fight their way through each world to save the day and discover the secrets of every legendary painting.
The story is simple (obviously, not a surprising mindfuck for veteran Rayman players), but I think it's much better than the story told in Rayman Origins, I mean, Gabrielle, seriously, what the fuck?

I like the new story as well. No need for mindfuck in Rayman games.

Anyone else hate the fact that when the wii u launches most people will inevitably go forthe re hashed, same old mario bros instead of rayman legends, which brings so much to the genre and is truly a work of gaming art, thats annoyed me for years, ive always valued rayman far higher than mario! Everything about rayman, from the ever changing imaginative world, beautiful artstyle, always something fresh and unique whereas you can look at the new mario bros games and ones released years ago and they look piratically the same besides minor graphical improvements....

As soon as the word 'sucked' appeared in the same sentence as 'painting'. Then the word 'in' followed and my assumptions were confirmed.

It's a nice story, but I wonder what magician's trickery has led to possess these paintings which such powers. Perhaps it was the work of the Dark Lord*!

*= Jano, not He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, obviously.

Or maybe someone just pinched them from Picture City, why waste time making them when you can just find them lying around.

Genetic Destiny wrote:I'm looking forward to getting this game. I never imagined an adventure where Rayman, Globox AND Murfy tackle the whole game. Anyway, I bet it'd be possible to change Murfy's character like you could change characters in Origins. Hopefully they have more than different outfits for him, because I would LOVE to play as Andre in Murfy's place.

I also like how the dragons have collars. Its like they're the pirate Lividstones' pets. Also, expanding on the Land of the Livid Dead is a GREAT idea.
Andé here wouldn0t make much sense. André is a bad guy and he'd never help Rayman. Plus, André was transformed back into a Red Lum in the end of Rayman 3.

Also those purple lums seem to work like the red ones in Origins. I think I will try to get a Wii U for this game. Plus, Wii U looks good so far, I guess I'll have to watch it in E3.
They managed to make Dark Rayman playable in Origins and they didn't explain it, so I don't see why Andre would be confusing. He's a small flying character who can mess with the environment, which is basically what Murfy is. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a random Lum as a playable character. Also, Andre could be brought back by scaring any red Lum to death, which seems to be easy since some characters like to terrorize Lums (aka lividstones). Bearing that in mind, they could have Andre as an unlockable character and people in the game can assume that someone scared a red Lum.

I love the colours, the position of the characters, the background EVERYTHING. I love how Rayman's plan is so risky! he's grabbing a fire-spitting dragon by the tongue just to give him a punch on his face, as the dragon is about to spit fire. It really proves that rayman is brave as fuck... or a complete retard.

Although I like the idea of Rayman and friends being sucked into a new mystical world, I can't help but worry the story will end up being just like Origin's with no real dialogue and a confusing plot.

Brave is having the willpower to do something, regardless if you are afraid or not.
