Double post -- 20 days later -- should be alright.

Anyway, I was wondering if I could ask some of the people who don't check the artworks section, how close do you think this looks to the RTAS model? I can't tell very well anymore because I've been staring at it and working on it for so long that I've lost almost all second person perspective. :oops2: What should be modified/improved?

I think you have done a great job because it looks close to the official one! Will you use it in your fangame? :)

Of course I will. :) I'm basing the model, animations and voice off of RTAS, as they were so well done. I even copied RTAS's expression system (if you look in the "Making Of" video Haruka uploaded. They're a little rough at the moment, but I just did them so meh. I'm considering making some animated Rayman cartoons of my own.

Hmm... you were going to base the Rayman voice of the one from the animated series? Not sure about that. I liked the voice, but I thought it wasn't quite Rayman, to be honest. Rayman still seems to me to be a modest hero more than a tedious brat.

But concerning the model, it's great! If you need any help writing those cartoons, please come knocking! I love making cartoons myself and would really like helping out.

Well you can use a voice without keeping the personality. :) Personally I think it should be a cross between the two. Serious, but can be funny/cheeky sometimes.

^ Basically this. I'd say have a cross; at least then you won't get several youtube comments saying OH LOOK FUTURAMA

Frown!Rayman is ADORABLE. <3

True, but the voice itself makes me think of the description set above. But of course, if you think it sounds best, you should go ahead with it - even if I don't like the end result, I won't mind that much; it don't matter how much one fs up Rayman, it's STILL Rayman and thus it's STILL awesome. Except for Rabbids. They killed him dead.

I actually didn't think of Billy West as Rayman until someone told me.

Also, you appear to be feeling hungrythirsty for a Rayman game without Rabbids.

Except for Rabbids. They killed him dead.
This again, really? :boon:

Ffff don't you're making me wish I talked to Billy for longer than I did. x:

I dislike it when people say "the rabbids killed Rayman..." Because they didn't. The minigames killed Rayman. You all wanted the original Rayman 4 right? Well guess who the antagonists were.

The original Rayman 4 didn’t look great. The Rabbids were never a good idea.

I admit I'm relieved that the Rabbids suffered a last hour redesign, because they were ugly in the very beginning.

But... That was the big point about the rabbids.
They were supposed to be some kind of aliens/zombies at the start wich would have made a great game in my opinion... But the minigames ruined it and that's probably why they look so cute in the minigame one

Hmm, I think Rayman 4 would have made a great game if it were an action platformer. I would be really interested to see how the Rabbids would act as enemies, and I was expecting to find size and power variations on them too.

I think if the Rabbids kept the final design except had something along the lines of red glowing eyes with different fur colours they would be great enemies as well.

I liked the ugly, monstrous Rabbids much better than the smooth, ‘cute’ ones that ended up in the game.

I know, but even like that their design wasn't very appellative to me.

That's also true. I was quite excited about the "Rayman 4" at the time I saw the E3 trailer. But when I saw the final product...

Even by the time the E3 trailer was released, you could kind of tell the project was going downhill. The dance combat, the goofy costumes, the gimmicky animal-riding segments, the inexplicable Pulp Fiction music and those awful children seen playing the game were all warning signs.

The Guillaume Bonamy artwork is the only thing to suggests that game ever stood a chance of being any good.
