Also this talk of Polokus and Rayman's creation makes me think back to the Knowledge of the World, we know that Rayman wasn't created by Polokus, as it was the power of the lums used by the Nymphs as stated by RO. But more intriguingly, Polokus was stated to come into being also through the power of the lums, in a way, this kinda makes Rayman more of a Polokus-like being, perhaps even a Demigod in terms of the inhabitants of the Glade.
Indeed, I think we can somehow compare Rayman to Hercules from the Greek mythology.

According to an interview back in Rayman Origins development, Polokus was revealed to have shapeshifting abilities and some forms were planned to have shown in the game. Although it did not happen, I think it is hinted that she still owns that capacity since he doesn't look like the R2 form at all.
My headcanon is that the RO/RL form is the original one that the Lums gave in his birth. Before putting himself to deep sleep, he transformed to a short being with long arms for an easier mask reach in that tall pillar. After the R2 events he would return to the Snoring Tree and to his original form.

You're going to get crucified for that. But fuck, I kinda agree. Ly's just so... I don't know... not the best.

I wouldn't say Ly is my least favourite but I'm not too fond of her either.

Can we all just agree Razorwife is one of the most developed characters in the Rayman universe? ;D

Absolutely, her inclusion was vital to the Rayman series and really ties a lot of key plot elements together.

Sorry Brad but I have to agree. What was her story again, she went through a portal and just came into existence or something? Why is there a human in Rayman's world, where did she come from and what does she even do? What, she just made friends with Rayman out of the blue and her whole character is just another sprite to play as?
I never finished Legends so I don't know if there's any story to her, but from what I remember you just unceremoniously unlock her after some random level with no explination of where she came from or who she is.

Unfortunately Barbara's backstory is not explained at any point of the game. She's simply there, along with her sisters.
I always had difficulties to understand if she is a product of Bubble Dreamer's dreams, if she is an Earthling from the V century A.C that was sucked to a Spiral Door by mere casuality, if humans live in the Glade, or none of these chances. I think Legends is pretty vague in a lot of things going on in the screen.
I am obviously not counting spin-offs because if these are to count, it is not the first time Rayman interacts with human beings:
It is not clear though if the action happens in the Glade, or Earth or none of them.
There's also a minor interaction in Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 for the Nintendo DS, wher he is interviewed by human journalists concerning the Rabbids invasion. In here we know it is definitely in Earth. (How Rayman and the Rabbids went here though?)
I like to believe there must exist a connection between both planets but there is no explanation for such.

For me it's something of a tie between Barabara and Betilla's siblings, since none of them feel all that relavant ever.

To be honest I interpret Barbara's sisters as mere playable characters since they don't impact the story in anything. Barbara has made more appearances by far too.

If you were all gone, then the world may be a happier place. Well for me at least. :3
(Also, Amber, your opinion is even less important seeing as you haven't even played the damn game. Loser :u)

Hey I played the game, as long as I could at least. It just got boring without any story, the whole game was just an assortment of levels with no plot.
I got as far as unlocking Barbara at least, and to be honest I expected at least some explination; even just a cutscene of Barbara in a cage and Rayman saving and talking to her would be good, but as far as I remember you just randomly unlock her as a skin change...

So main ones are Tily, Razorwife, Ly, Henchman 1000, Uglette and Barbara. Interesting what they all have in common besides the Hench.
I disliked the Rabbids and the Baby Globox things in RRR. I'm also not that fond of Murfy in the third game.

Honestly IMO lack of personality or interesting traits really shouldn't be blamed on characters themselves, but rather how they're written. I'm pretty sure even the most hated characters would be more believable, and thay way more enjoyable to look at, if we knew a little more about them.
I don't see the point in hating characters if they haven't really done anything plot wise. I'm just kind of neutral towards those without much known personality traits, because I still see the possibility for them to maybe some day develop.

I'm not saying she's the worst, I'm just saying she isn't that great. She's a tad of a bore.

I never really thought about it but wow, Rayman's a bit of a sausage fest.
GN has a point though, I've never had anything against Barbara other than her not having been introduced till Legends. Like I said in the Rayman cartoon thread, I could picture a lot of the newly introduced foes & friends from the new games as actually interesting characters if they had more personality applied to them, and Barbara would probably stand out above all in that case. It's not really the fault of Barbara the character for lacking depth, more just the modern day approach at Rayman games.
