I never really saw the point of having a smartphone? I understand owning a phone because, well, you like to call and maybe text people, but I feel like most people invest tons of money in them just so they can check Facebook or play a mediocre arcade game while they wait in line for a few minutes.

I think I've raved enough about how having a smartphone has benefited me in the smartphone usage thread, but believe me, they're very handy tools with genuine purpose to some as opposed to mere toys.

The best thing I've found from using one is being able to get onto the Internet pretty easily! It does come in handy!

Contents and restriction wise yes, OS and speed wise and app compatibility no.
But having powerful android is better than iPhone I admit.

You know that thing you like doing where you go on the internet a lot? Yeah, it's like doing that, but you don't have to cooped up in your house, glued to your desk.

Aside from internet/forum browsing, my most natural tendency, the things I use it for all the time are indeed Facebook where I talk to friends often, and Skype, where I constantly have development chats running that I'm a part of. And then, of course, there's music to listen to whenever and anime to watch in spare downtime. Smartphones are the most useful invention of the decade, in my opinion.

I couldn't agree more with what you said. I no longer have any regular phone.

You can also use them to post in your favorite website anytime you want ,reper yourself with a map, make a video call to your girlfreid who live at the other side of the globe...

to search something on wikipedia...

I don't even have a real Camera. I am happy with XPERIA Play Camera and iPhone 4 Camera.

Meh, Smartphone cameras are good, but I seriously doubt they can rival a professional photography set.

Of course they can't, but they do their job for me good.

Unless you get dust inside the camera and then it starts to suck.

I never feel a desire for internet when I'm outside the house. If I leave the house than that is what I'm focused on and music is really the only thing I really need. I do have a Galaxy player with internet access and games and whatnot but I haven't bothered at all to use it for that. Honestly it just annoys me when I'm out at a restaurant and my father already puts his phone next to him in case he needs it. Don't tell me to be social when you can't leave Facebook alone for three fucking minutes.

I have used my phone for communication with others online in a restaurant plenty of times before.

I can't go to restaurant without phone

Depends on the scenario, I don't like eating out as is, but I have my phone there mostly as a backup due to my lacking social skill, it's either sitting there awkwardly, or actually having something to pass the time with. I appreciate the need to have conversation when going out and about, but seeing as the topics most of my relatives enjoy are contrary to my own, and I don't have anything to say, I can't say I succeed in that aspect well.

I post from my phone because my computer doesn't have.internet.
