Hmm, Origin's and Legend's tone and style wasn't as attuned to my tastes, I'll admit. Though it'd be interesting to see some of its ideas translated to 3D.
Personally however, I'd like the crazy factor to be dialed down a little, with a little bit more seriousness. I'd also be intrigued in seeing some newer gameplay ideas explored, I've mentioned it countless times at this point, but I think Rayman could work as a Metroidvania.

I agree on the crazy factor, it was fun in Rayman 3 but right now, it's way too much to handle, Rayman 2 definitely had the best atmosphere of quirky, funny, and serious in my opinion.

Eh, I personally thought Origins/Legends had th he right amount of crazy in it. I've seen crazier before. Preferences I guess.

True, we all have our tolerances when it comes to that.

I think people might find the craziness less jarring if there were more actual story elements and what not. It's perfectly feasible to have a crazy and silly cast of characters, but still have some sort of compelling plot.

I mean, personally, I really don't mind the craziness at all (at the end of the day, I mainly play Rayman for the gameplay, though I also love the music and visuals. I don't necessarily need a plot to enjoy these things though), but I would not be opposed to plot elements being thrown in, even if it was something optional like Rosalina's Storybook in Super Mario Galaxy. Or go the Sonic Unleashed route, where the story is relatively simple and there is a lot of humour and silliness, but the NPC characters are actually charming and compelling and each have their own little stories and where the overall world building is really great.

However, Ancel doesn't really seem interested in adding much in the way of plot, especially since he has Beyond Good & Evil 2 to work on, which is likely going to be an epic. He's actually compared Rayman Legends to porn:

I remember seeing the bathroom one in a 2002 issue of Nintendo Power, I probably still have it somewhere.

Since 2015 will be the 20th anniversary of Rayman, I have a feeling they MIGHT announce a new 3D game, atleast I hope.

Actoully I always thought since I was a little kid that they'd make a 20th anniversary bundle of the original 3 games put them in HD. It would be pretty cool if anyone in the villa not working on BG&E2 had time to make a new rayman though.

Yeah, the grim reality unfortunately is most likely not a new 3D Rayman game in 2015 (wishing until 2015 comes) I personally would rather want a new Rayman game instead of BG&E2, it seems unfair to the fans but hey, I'm a bit selfish concerning Rayman and the fact I've been waiting for around 8 years now.

I saw it on the RaymanZone site back in '04 or '05.

i think new rayman 3d game should be rayman one remake ( you know the game is very good , the plot is better than in new games , it means in rayman origins ,)

name for that game should be rayman : journey of the ray ( rayman is ray , and a destiny of every ray is to spread his light and protect the others )
