The bit with the two stones tied to a slab is missing too so I can assume that by the time the game came out on PS1 etc that became an extra level.

I think they worked on the Jag and PC versions concurrently, then added extra stuff to each, taking into account advantages and limitations.
Then they probably took elements from both to put in the PSX version, and added extra stuff on top of that to the Saturn version.

I found a developer called Golgoth. They remake old 2D games. And, unlike Gameloft's Earthworm Jim, Golgoth's remakes actually look really, really good.

I remember the original Toki being kinda sucky so this looks like quite a vast improvement - but what about getting the rights and stuff from such a huge company as Ubisoft?
Graphically Rayman would be fucking amazing.

I don't know how hard it would be to negotiate a one-off remake of a two-generations-old game, or how much the size of the company would affect it. They haven't been doing much with the license lately, that's for sure.
After Toki, their next game will be Joe & Mac. I wonder where they'll go from there.

They already know what they're gonna make next, but a re-make of R1 would be great.

I don't think it would be quite that simple.
Although, Golgoth is only a six-man team, so if you write to them it's very likely that they'll at least read it.
Also, they're French.

It sounds like Grolgoth. Is that a sign?

Maybe we should mention this on the wiki

I'm in Eraser Plains, and I can confirm that there is an extra level that apparently was omitted in all other versions. Rayman's gotta swing on the rings while hitting yinyangs that are like, right beside them [which is bloody hard BTW], and then there's like a puzzle where you have to observe this pattern that tells you which box of pins [yes, there are pins you can actually stand on] you can walk on, get it wrong and the box instantly kills you.
Also the pirate mama's background uses that bubbly rainbow one instead of the sea one, not sure why.

Edit: They have the comment-pending thing activated.

@Plum: it's not, the Jaguar version came first don't you know.
Putting up the screen I took of that "puzzle" right now

Not much evidence can be found, but I know it deep down. Anyway I've beaten Space Mama and again the bubbly background is used, same for the level before that with the pins and shit.
Meanwhile in the Saturn version, pins level has the space background, while on Space Mama it uses the same but it goes as if it's moving. I'm up to Joe's in that one.

Awesome addition to the Eraser Plains article Stacey
Just one thing though, you have uploaded two Jaguar screenshots so far, and while the one from the demo is 223 px high, the one from the final version is 224 px high. Is that normal?
