Indeed, the chances of any given world finding itself in these perfect circumstances is quite low. But consider this: The earth is part of a solar system consisting of 7 other planets and a few, smaller dwarf planets which all orbit the sun. The sun is part of a galaxy consisting of hundreds of billions of stars. While not all of those stars have as many planets as the sun, some may have many more. If we take, say 5 as an average (for the sake of simplicty) and say there are 200 Billion stars in our galaxy (estimates are between 100-400 billion) that means there could be maybe 1,000,000,000,000 planets in our galaxy
alone.

Now consider that there are hundreds of billions of galaxies. Again, these can be smaller than our galaxy but can also be even larger. However if we say that ours is roughly average (again for simplicity's sake), then there could easily be 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the universe. Not that there could easily be much more than that, since I mainly used low-end estimates.

So yes, the chances of any given world finding itself in the aforementioned perfect circumstances is quite low. I can't say exactly what that chance is, but say for example the chance is 1 in 200,000,000,000,000,000. Shit, that's pretty damn small. But considering there may be 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets in the universe means that there should be around 1 million "perfect" planets, and the Earth is just one of them. These calculations are no doubt innacurate, but definitely close enough to get the idea.

I think it's very fitting that creation boy chose the day of the patron saint of lost causes to come back.

I would also like to add that the 'goldilocks zone' around the sun where a planet can harbour liquid water (which, as far as we know is the only thing that's needed for life) is much wider than you think. The Earth's distance to the sun varies with about 6 million km during every rotation. It's actually furthest away from the Sun about the time we have summer here in the Northern Hemisphere. You could actually move the Earth 38% further away from the Sun and still have liquid water, and therefore, in theory, life. That's almost as far out as Mars.

Neither have any mentally stable people I know.

Given the millions of ghost sightings throughout history which continue to this day, I get the impression that there's something there. But I doubt it's anything similar to the pop-cultural understandings of the term.

One of my friends sighted his dead grandmother once... allegedly. I'm going to remain neutral until I see one myself though.

Ghosts are just projections of the mind, imo. I need objectively verifiable evidence of their existance if I'm ever to believe in them. Atm everything there is is anecdotal evidence, the weakest form of evidence by far.

Ghosts... My mind has been home to many irrational fears over the years, and yes, ghosts has been one. ATM, however, I am undecided on the matter.
