After waiting for a thousand hour download < eventually did touch on C++ (includng them fancy header files) for the first time in ever

< hears this sort of thing a lot and < has come to realise that (probably) the only reason people think a lot of things these days aren't as good as they used to be is because "these days" is a much smaller period of time than "they used to be", so it's less likely that you'll have good new things than good old things.

<'s imagine there will be a time when the stuff considered mainstream by us will be in past decades. Bear in mind though, it's usually only the good stuff that gets remembered.

Actually < suspects it's because <'s mum wears slippers a lot which make a distinct shuffling sound. So at first < thought it was <'s mum but when < looked over it looked like one of those scarecrows in that doctor who episode. If < remembers correctly it was wearing <'s mum's night gown too, so it was pretty damn scary at the time.
