I was reading the Wiki and decided to look up Lums and then I noticed this under Origins:
Lums (pronounced “Looms,” like ilLUMination, and not Lums, for dumb)
I found this interesting, because we've heard Rayman along with others say Lum in Rayman 2 PS1, Rayman Revolution and Rayman 3. I was just wondering where this concept came from that they decided to change the pronunciation to "Looms" which sounds kinda funny
Is it just the language they speak in Origins, they just say "Looms" instead?

Well, that's interesting indeed. I haven't even wondered about that until now. I think it's just the language they speak.

Retcon fail.

See, this is why the
English documentation shouldn't be relied upon for anything.

lol
I suppose that would be true considering how certain parts of the Knowledge of the World were translated inaccurately.

Don't try look smart by pretending you knew, I told you yesterday and you were just as bamboozled as I was about it

I'll admit I was bamboozled by the "looms"

Yeah just like me, bamboozled
The Lum King theme might be in my head right now

I don't get why they added the mosaic of Rayman originally being bald and getting his flying hair from some creatures that stuck to his head in the Vita version.

I wouldn't listen to that, it's a bullcrap story that was made when the creators ate paint chippings as Plum said.

I guess the story of Globox only turning blue after being stung by the blue mosquitoes was at least referenced already in the original manual of the game (if I'm not mistaken?) and can be supported with the appearance of the Red Wizards and Fakirs of his species, but otherwise the canonicity of the mosaics is disputed. The story of Rayman gaining his hair is... baffling, to say the least.
However, it's not like they didn't already just change huge chunks of the world and lore for the UbiArt games as they saw fit (what with Globox being a slap-happy lunatic rather than a timid family father or Polokus living with his creations and being all laid-back and carefree)...

Why can't they be consistent? Why bother constantly changing the lore? It's confusing.

Because gameplay and "having a good time" seems to always come first, and story doesn't even matter that much anyway to the developers. The whole world was overhauled already in Rayman 2, and while the game seemed to set some new defaults for the world, each new instalment brings something new and changes several core aspects of the setting.
I've always been very interested in the lore of the Rayman games (especially the myths and geography of the Glade of Dreams), but with all the enormous inconsistencies and almost nothing being set in stone, it's hard to make any assumptions without relying on headcanons.

I don't pay any heed to the story of the games anymore after Rayman 3. It doesn't matter because the games are still good and the gameplay is what matters.

One of the simplest explanations is that as Polokus' mood changes, the world, which is shaped by the activities of his mind, changes with it. After getting rid of the pirates in Rayman 2, he came back, and decided to be more laid-back and happy-go-lucky. Of course, one may also consider this a boring explanation…

Well, that's what I've been trying to believe, as the explanation works at least somewhat well... But how does Rayman 3 factor into all of this? Where was Polokus during that time? And it just seems there should be something more to it... Oh well, I guess one shouldn't be too concerned about the story by now, considering that Rayman Legends practically doesn't even
have one (though it's still incredibly fun to play).

I'd say Polokus was in the Snoring Tree in Rayman 3, while Rayman and Globox happened to be sleeping somewhere else at the time, so they just never had a chance to meet in that game. (Though come to think of it, judging by the appearance of the environment, where they were sleeping in Rayman 3 wasn't that far from the Tree…)

Very possible! I really enjoy comparing and combining the games' geographical locations together, even though its often hard because of all the discrepancies.
(On a side note, it can be strongly assumed from Rayman Origins that Mystical Pique is the highest peak in the Glade of Dreams - at least I think it's treated that way as a level? However, in Rayman 2, the highest peak and the centrepoint of the Glade seems to be the volcano near the Sanctuary of Stone and Fire. Is it, in any way, possible that the two are one and the same? Are there any traces of possible volcanic activity in the Pique? I know this may be stretching it a bit, but it's just something I have been wondering...)

Well, the stone men on the Pique use lava balls, so I guess that implies some kind of residual volcanic activity. Looks fairly dormant though. That doesn't make it implausible though, since we don't know how much time passes between Rayman 2 and Origins – it could be long enough for the volcano to become dormant!

I was playing around with Origins mods last night. Some of them look pretty amazing to be honest. I love the Rayman 3 laser detergent mods
