Bayonetta was fine -- she has her fans, she's different, whatever. Corrin was an absolute insult and proof that Sakurai just puts in who he wants.

I agree. Bayonetta is cool but Corrin just sucks.

To be fair, two games and two rosters later I'm still maining Captain Falcon, so it's not like I missed out on an opportunity here.

But on the other hand, I mean, c'mon. The overdose of FE kinda kills the significance of the series inclusion - It's not like anyone's going to ooh and aah over surprise surprise, another weeb character wearing armour and using sword-based attacks. Besides, Smash is about seeing Mario beat the shit out of Pickachu, the edginess of FE shouldn't be as present as it is.

Bayonetta is fine. What isn't fine are those guys who were completely mad at the fact that Bayonetta won like nobody voted for her. I was there, at forums and polls, seeing tons of people hyped for Bayonetta. It just made sense.

And let's be honest, although I prefer having Rayman... I'd totally check those Nintendo forums first... because nintendo fans are totally salty with Rayman. Yeah, it wasn't Michel Ancel's fault that Legends got delayed and ported somewhere else, but would they listen? of course not. They just see Rayman as a traitor. Some people even went on to say that they wouldn't buy Smash Bros. U only because Rayman appears as a trophy. Crazy stuff.

To the date, delaying Rayman Legends in favor of the ports is still one of the most hurtful decisions Ubisoft has taken on Rayman, in terms of install base.

They're loss, Legends is the one of the best platformers of the generation and is waaaay better than that shit Nintendo tried regurgitating early on the the Wii u's life cycle.

But I digress. I really, really, don't like Bayonetta. I didn't like her before the Smash Bros direct, nor do I now. From my perspective the series feels like a (knowingly) shameless game featuring a slutty character coupled with some flashy hack & slash combat. That being said, I'm don't hate her because of my "puritan values (Like I ever did have them )," 'cause I don't have a problem with sexuality; I just feel that it's more or less a series that's made with jacking off in mind.

Segwaying with that, I don't like that she's in smash. I associate smash as being a childhood game, and of a simpler innocent time; so why would I want to combine those memories with the association I have of Bayonetta and it's trademark "one-handed mode"? I'd have taken Rayman (or Sora, Banjo, and Geno for that matter) because like smash, and associate them with my memories of youth.

So I can understand being mad, cause I am. Am I saying that it's a big deal in the grand scheme of things? hell no, there's so much worse in the world than the Smash Ballot. But it would be unfair for either side to lie about their opinions, so until I'm over it in a week or so I choose to be salty as hell that she's in.

That fact alone is irrelevant because there will always be feminazi that would tell you that yes, Bayonetta was designed by a woman, but she has been previously been brainwashed by male culture and patriarchy and shit. And the debate of whether she's a feminist icon or a virtual sex doll for men is never fading away, since the plot of the game (the first one anyway, still haven't played the second) is written so poorly that any intelligent clue went away in the Sega black hole of relevancy (you know, the same one that engulfed Sonic 10 years ago).

A lot of people like Bayonetta, not to mention the series having phenomenal reviews, and they are happy to see her in Smash; for this reason I don't understand you being mad. Being "mad" here is a very selfish emotion, it's not one to be proud of. Instead of embracing your saltiness, why can't you instead just be happy for the many people who are overjoyed with her included?

Honestly, I couldn't care less about Bayonetta. I'm just a little bitter about Rayman not getting in.
