As Hoodcom said, that’s not a good way for doing it. It might just screw up the speed more.

< doesn’t need to take it apart, there are two holes on the bottom that you can stick a screwdriver into and turn

If you could take it apart though, you might find labels near the potentiometers. Or maybe use a multimeter to see what resistances they're currently set to…
