From the looks of things, a large part of the NHS just got knocked out thanks to some ransomware, < hopes they use back ups.

It's funny really, we have one of the biggest facilities for surveillance, and yet we have systems like these for our healthcare services. Makes you think.

From the rumours <'s been hearing, it's apparently been installed by some big exploit that was only very recently patched.

< has gotten the strut channel in for <'s mounting needs, < just needs to get it painted, pre-drilled and fastened.

< noticed a mention of phishing. < seems to have received a phishing mail yesterday, purporting to be from GOG. < wonders if there's a connection.

Well, it doesn't seem to be the case. From what <'s read, it's apparently using an exploit that was patched last month, after some leaks revealed tools that the NSA created that used said exploit.

< wonders what this'll mean for security here, mind. The NHS gets a lot of fanfare over a lack of funds, and yet they clearly need to get their systems updated.

< wonders how much of it is due to funding and how much is due to people not wanting to go through the painful "Installing update 1 of 16, Please do not turn off your computer…".
