I considered the relics an anti-feature tbh, until the above conversation took place a few weeks ago.
I mean they arent REVOLUTIONARY but they do add an extra little kick of replay value. If, hypothetically, they were the ONLY additional feature of the Vita version, it would still essentially be “Rayman Origins + 1”, yknow?
That and the portability.
The only downsides to the vita version are that you can only have 1 save file instead of three and the lack of co op, but really the co op wasnt anything to go nuts about. Id take portability over it any day.

The Vita version is pretty solid, much much better than the 3DS version.

I originally had the ps3 version but man the vita version outdoes it, imo. The visuals suffer no downgrade either, which is appreciated.

It does run at 544p instead of 1080p, but the screen is only 5" as opposed to a TV, so it doesn't look bad. The textures aren't low quality either as you can zoom in and see that they still look pretty good.
Ironically, the Vita still runs the game at a higher resolution than the Wii.

The Vitas OLED screen makes games like Origins and Odin Sphere Leifthrasir look pretty much identical to their console versions.
I also found it kinda ironic that the wii version has the most critical acclaim despite offering less than the ps3/360/vita versions with a lower resolution and no trophy support. Still a fun game tho, obviously.

Yeah it's odd in a way, and it's true that the original Vita with the OLED makes it look really nice.
I went with an OLED TV last year and I've had AMOLED phones for the past 3 years, so I'm fussy enough now to want those amazing colours and black levels.

zombie chickens are translated as something more like zombie
chicks. so like More babier
True, I guess that it can be considered the liberty of the translator. It makes no difference to the plot (whatever little there is) if these were chickens or chicks.

Тинси is definitely a mistake, since that's the only place where they are referred as such. Малютки is official.
ZelenPixel wrote: Fri Dec 13, 2019 4:12 pmwhich also has a footnote for a weird lip pun? is it even present in any other language?
It is, although the pun is different. For instance, here is the English version:
*Goober is a term of endearment that comes from the ancient Gladeish verb “to goub,” which involves dancing while smiling sheepishly, exposing the ‘goubs’ in one’s teeth.
If anything, I think the Russian one makes more sense here than the English one. I think they were lucky that the Russian word for lips has a similar sound (Gooby).

Interesting too. The French version seems to have neither of the rabbits or cows references.

When Ubisoft updated Rayman Jungle Run and Rayman Fiesta Run in early 2019 on Android they accidentally broke several things. Jungle Run no longer downloads the gallery files, crashing the app, and both apps run in the wrong aspect ratio breaking some levels. Steo, Miles and I managed to patch them, fixing these issues. You can download the patched versions below. Sadly you'll have to reinstall the game to apply them as the version is the same and it can't be applied as an update. You need to back up your save files if you want to keep them.

Can I install them if I never had the games in the first place?

Yes, but I'd encourage you to buy a legit copy first as I didn't intend for these to be used for piracy.

It was the only way we were going to be able to play it again really, along with having everything working. I emailed Ubisoft with low expectations a couple of weeks back, but I was even more surprised because they didn't reply at all.
They're also clearly lying on the Play Store:

Yeah Rayman and Ancel deserve so much better than Ubisoft. But yeah they havent responded to my inquiry either so its pretty clear they have no intention of actually patching the game, nor reimbursing customers.

I remember Dad once bought Jungle Run and had it on his phone, and I once got Fiesta Run when it was free on the Amazon app store. I'm debating with myself whether or not this would justify my downloading the APKs…

If you got it for free from Amazon I don't feel it's an issue. But you should wait a few days anyway as Steo and I are making some major changes to the APK's, restoring the Rayman Channel, removed options and redirecting all links away from the Ubisoft servers so they can be archived.

How long are these games really, i.e., how long would it take me realistically to get a 100% completion save? Reason I'm asking is because I really only want them for research purposes for the wiki, such as learning the names of characters, especially in other languages such as Russian...

You can get the names easily from the
localization files I uploaded. But if you want to play the games, it takes a while. Fiesta Run has over 90 or so levels and Jungle Run 70.

Actually, I think Тинси is the term used in Rayman 2, while the recent games have switched to Малютка.

None that I know of, but in the translation thread someone linked to a website with an unofficial translation, that also contains some voice acting.

ya i dont think 2 got translated! 3 did get localized apparently and that probably(havent played it) uses тинси too. that ones official but made by a different team while the ubiart games seem to be localized in house so the localizations arent gonna be all that consistent
also it just keeps being very tempting to write тинзи instead of тинси(with a z sound instead of an s sound) because doesnt the english word have a z sound in it anyway
