Re: Rayman Origins
Can't blame you for this, happens to me all the time!
Re: Rayman Origins
Sometimes working on a wiki article is a bit like compiling packages for Linux, you find many problems with others while trying to work on one, and it branches out.

Re: Rayman Origins
looked at that origins script that was apparently found recently and heres some interetsing observations
apparently even the writers forgot murfy was a fly

they actually put so much effort into the voice acting!! even if its all gibberish that you can just skip past anyway

apparently the magician Does say things in the lum collection cutscene after every level ("mmm goody goody!" "more lums! more energy! hahaha!" "beautiful moolah of the glade!" "all mine! mine! hahaha!")

also what seems to be that cutscene where he dances and gets everyone distracted and then runs off? as far as i can tell in the early script he told everyone how he was bullied at school, got them to cry and THEN ran off

also ALSO apparently he was gonna like. hide in da hat and keep begging you to jump on him instead of being entirely silent until you jump on him

also this unused line that ive always wondered what the hell was it about? on the wiki?

seems like the four or three main characters in particular were gonna get several individual descriptions from the bubble dreamer but we only ever got one description for each. the grand minimus also has that second one, that one that mentions mama hite

turns out its actually talkign to globox in particular. turns out this was another mention of uglette (one of the last lines here straight up says "you promised your wife...")! we got neither that nor her playable! no fairGlutton after my own heart (happy sigh)... I've still got heartburn since our last chow festival! You lay off the sacred plum juice I promised your Mrs... Leave some for me!

Re: Rayman Origins
I think only the "oody-gay" line is used in the game. Interesting that there were going to be more…

Re: Rayman Origins
The only time that one of those dumb, made-up 'languages' doesn't sound that bad.
Re: Rayman Origins
I don't know why this works, but it does.
I guess even in Raymanian though, it sounds like he's talking about "Calibrew stew" or something. Maybe he means coffee, since that's what Calibrew seems to be.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, that was gibberish, but not some dumb made-up language for ten-year-olds, so that's fine.
Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, I'm not too sure why they went with Pig Latin myself.

Re: Rayman Origins
Bad taste?
On the other hand, it fits quite well with the slapstick humor of the game, in the sense that both will fail to make anyone over the age of ten laugh.

Re: Rayman Origins
Hah, imagine the characters in this game speak English!
Re: Rayman Origins
It's only funny if you use "fps=1000" or something, that way it gives the same effect Homer Simpson used on Mel Gibon's movies to make them funny.Hunchman801 wrote: Wed Jul 22, 2020 4:08 pm Bad taste?

Re: Rayman Origins
Did you guys know The Nymphs used to have a different animation for granting powers? There used to be a video on YouTube demonstrating it back in 2011, but it looks like it’s long gone now.

Unfortunately there’s no sound. It used to have sound back in the day but now it doesn’t
In case this video ever gets deleted here’s an archival download:

Re: Rayman Origins
Thanks for sharing this! I think I like the final one better, however.
Re: Rayman Origins
This actually does look cool, but yeah the final one seems a little better suited to the game itself in a way.

Re: Rayman Origins
Yeah, something feels a bit off about it. I'm just nitpicking though, there would have been much more important things to change in Origins.
