I didn't notice when Uplay turned into Ubisoft Connect.

Same, I was actually wondering if they were the same thing.

They're indeed the same thing apparently, I tested it out by trying to launch Uplay and it started Ubisoft Connect instead.

During the first trailer of Origins one of the stages that were showed was this one: the level alongside the enemies don't appear in the final release. it's possible that this scrapped world was a re-imagination of The Cave of Skops from Rayman 1.
both levels has a darkness scenarios, and a concept art related to this world, show a bar that looks similar the Eat at Joe's of The Cave of Skops. However this world looks be intended for has a theme about huge world, where Rayman fight with big insects. this idea was possibly reused for Rayman Mini. This world alongside a re-imagination of Picture City don't appeared in the final game.

The scrapped content from Rayman Origins will never cease to fascinate me. I really wish more of it made it in even if the final game is great as is.

I haven't seen those before. These pieces of concept art are beautiful.

I have always loved the campy tone of this game

I still think it's amazing how much they changed Origins during development. I still like the final game though, and while it doesn't exactly have the type of lore or story (if even one at all) that you'd expect in Rayman, the artwork and gameplay is pretty amazing.

here are some notable uh... notes

They used recolored Betilla as placeholder for Edith Up in the beginning cutscene, the antitoon trapping the nymph was supposed to have that thinking bubble just like the treasure chest (also used as placeholder), the tutorial text box is different and the nymph rescue animation is way different. Not to mention the screen where the Magician collects your lums looks different.

Origins and legends was like some kind of come back for Rayman after his absence however it’s like Ubisoft has put him on mobile games smh.

I assume that was an earlier version of the game shown at Gamescom 2011?

It is nice indeed. I've never had the collectors edition but it's something I wanted to get ny hands on at some point.

I wish they had included this soundtrack with the PC Collector's Edition (the one that was Russian only).
