Do you not just go through all the levels and come back later?

Sort of but only for the time attacks of each level. I like to do my collecting right away

Ah, on the Wii I just ran through them, but on the 3DS I coincidentally ended up grabbing every lum

Started playing Origins on my Wii recently (at last!), wow the difference between a Wii remote+nunchuk and the keyboard really threw me off. Had to restart the first level due to not reaching 350 lums. Nice that the game still gives me a challenge, though I guess this time it's more of a skill issue.
That's a recurring pattern when one has to adjust to doing the same task using different tools. For example - if I have mastered a game using a keyboard, is it worth it for me to try to reach the same level of proficiency with a gamepad? I'd say only if it is for the sake of mastering the gameplay in general, so that I can play console games and not just PC, but I don't care enough.
On the other hand, when it comes to laptop pointing devices, for years I have been swearing by the trackpoint (a.k.a. pointing stick / little knob) and avoiding touchpads. This naturally limits the selection of laptops I can comfortably use, but I don't mind. However, in the past decade or so, touchpads have improved greatly, and I now find myself using both control devices interchangeably, as each has it's own advantages. Of course, a desktop setup with a keyboard and a mouse is still preferred.

Exactly. Outside of time attacks / invaded levels, Origins and Legends are easy enough, that if you don't reach the maximum score on your first try, you surely will on the second and third. No sense in stalling.

Right! Tbh there aren’t a lot of levels in Origins that really gave me trouble (mainly some of the last Tricky Trrasure levels), and Legends was entirely easy.

Hey guys when I translated Voodoo Mamma's name it does not mean Mamma Hité it means Maman Vaudou so why change Mamma Hité's name to Voodoo Mamma and Voodoo Mamma's name to Death Fairy it makes no sense!?

Everything is already explained in
this topic (which you already posted in). Official names in different languages are not necessarily literal translations of each other, and in this case it appears that the old French name Mamma Hité never had an English equivalent in the first place.

This chest level intrigues me enormously, it's the only level with this (beautiful) decor plus the surrounding stone is the same as the menhirs at the place where Rayman was created by Betilla, as well as all the appearance plates in start of level, I need DETAILED LORE !!!Screenshot_2024-03-22-22-47-19-867_com.google.android.youtube.jpg
I agree so much with this, it's so beautiful yet it's shunned because it's a freaking tricky treasure level!

I thought exactly the same way as you when I first saw it! I think one of Murfy’s challenges in the PS Vita version of Rayman Legends has that design as well

Ah the Tricky Temple level, I wonder if there was something greater going on there cause the Tricky Temple levels are unique amongst the Treasure Chase levels in that they don't follow the level themes like the other chase levels do. Perhaps they're remnants of some other idea?
Also I'd like to report that I have recently finished Rayman Origins...and like I stated in the unpopular opinions thread, I prefer the level design and theming in Origins. In fairness, I think Origins did have more jank than Legends, there were moments where I felt the game was working against me and while I really like the sense of flow the game has, sometimes the precision and windowing of button presses and duration can trip you up.
All in all though, I felt a greater amount of satisfaction in beating it, the challenge was higher, and while there might have been more jank on average, the levels in general just had a nicer sense of flow. Also LoTLD kicks Living Death Party's arse so much it's not funny. Seriously, I died so many times on LotLD but fuck me was it just so satisfying when I got through it.
Satisfaction, that's what I think Origins surpasses Legends in.

That's a pretty good take. I agree with that a lot, but my takeaway from origins is that it looks so much better than Legends in every way. Better art, better levels, there's an actual storyline, and the music is amazing!
And, the satisfaction is really nice too. LOTLD was so hard I had to pause game and go at it on another night lol. But when I beat Big Mama, it was REALLY underwhelming, but man did it feel good. I've been achievement hunting and to get that one in particular felt amazing. Glad to hear other people feel the same about it.

Yeah Big Mama's pretty easy once you get her pattern down, though I'll admit back when I first played the game in the old times, she was pretty tough.
I think on the topic of achievements, there are two things that I've not managed, getting all the lum medals and time trials, some of them are quite tight, moreso when you're playing solo.

Yeah, exactly- I had to watch a video a bunch of times to get it down, lol.
Also, also, yeah. I'm pretty sure the ones I'm missing are the same ones you are aswell. Moody clouds makes me scream trying to speedrun it.

I'll admit, I was pleasantly surprised in getting the time trial trophy for Mecha No Mistake, that level is brutal xD

Ah! Glad to see I'm not the only one with this impression, Legends seems so short and the levels looks like a simple straight line

I think rayman legends was designed that way because it’s supposed to feel more like an adventure. I prefer the setting of legends but origins no doubt has better level design

Tbh I found the feeling of progression much more present in Origins, but at the same time I have trouble remembering exactly what I felt when discovering Legends, it must not have been very important anyway bcz I was just so HAPPY at the time to play a new Rayman game
