It's almostly 3 AM, I don't want to sleep now and feel bored, soooo it's time for stupid questions.

I have noticed one thing... I have seen this mostly in American/British toons and movies. Why do people write only on right page of notebook? Like this.

The reason why do people do that, is because on the used paper inks may enlight on the other side. I though first that it may be some kind of style or tradition or like that, but answer was so simple and obvious...
