Lol, I've actually been using google translate to make it and rewording the sentances so that they'd make more sense.
But the GameInformer article still hasn’t been scanned, has it?Drolpiraat wrote:I didn't think someone had bothered scanning the Gameinformer article yet, but I was wrong. Thanks for telling us.
That’s pretty strange – I ran ‘Clairière des Rêves’ through Google Translate, and it gave me ‘Glade of Dreams’. I guess someone made an alternative translation or simply a mistake somewhere down the line.Hunchman801 wrote:@Spiral: No translation error from me, this is a new name in French as well.
Is this our explanation for Rayman’s limblessness? A lack of Lums made him incomplete? Perhaps this is something to do with the way he wasn’t dreamt up by Polokus, or the way all creatures are supposed to receive Blue Lums at birth. It sounds like they’re retconning Rayman’s species out of existence, but this is nothing new, and it’s a small price to play for all this greatness.Let's start with our hero, Rayman. He was raised by the nymphs to save the Glade of Dreams. However, the lack of Lums had the consequence of failing to have a creature "complete", so we will settle for a hero invertebrate, which will end the nightmares of the creator.
Maybe they’re calling Polokus the ‘Bubble Dreamer’ in this one so it will still make sense when Rayman claims never to have heard of him in Rayman 2? I like that they’re paying close attention to the mythology established by the Knowledge of the World... will Mr Dark be revealed as a nightmare of Polokus, as I speculated years ago? Then Bubble Dreamer, the creator of the universe of Rayman. He is so attached to his creative mind that any emotions he feels has a direct impact on the world. When he begins to have nightmares, the Glade of Dreams becomes dark and rough. We can find in various forms throughout the game
It’s good that they’re sticking with the Teensies’ description as guardians of dark ways and secret places (they built the Hall of Doors, remember), but this stuff about them being sorcerer’s apprentices is interesting? Polokus was referred to as ‘Polochus the Magician’ at one point, wasn’t he? Will the Magician from R1 be the master of the Teensies? Will the Red Wizard(s) have something to do with this? Is Globox a Red Wizard, as someone here said he was a few days ago? Is this about the red(dish) ‘Magician Teensie’ who will be controlled by the fourth player? I like the way they’re emphasising Rayman’s meeting with the Grand Minimus in the Woods of Light – a classic Rayman moment; its status in my memory is mythical indeed. The Teensies meanwhile are the guardians of the secrets of the Glade of Dreams. These are sorcerer's apprentices who consider all miniature kings, giving rise to a mythical scene in Rayman 2: The Great Escape, at their meeting at the beginning of the game Rayman
Betilla is an old friend of Polokus? Great stuff. And apparently other nymphs or other fairies will be seen... perhaps we will see Rayman’s first encounter with Ly?Bétille is an old friend of Bubble Dreamer. It is actually the older nymphs. She and her peers give Rayman new powers over the game.
Mr Dark won’t actually appear? This is a big deal. How on earth are they going to reveal his origins without him actually being in the game? Will we see him under another alias? Will a new character be introduced who becomes Mr Dark by the end of the game – a character whose face we will see? Will he remain a shadowy figure whose existence and manipulations of events are only hinted at throughout the adventure? Will we see Mr Dark in future Rayman games? This is exciting stuff.Mr Dark is a super villain who does not appear, but whose story is told in Rayman Origins to better understand the events. He has faced Bétille in the very first episode of Rayman and we'll let you guess who won the battle.
It looks like they’re calling him Moskito, rather than ‘Bzzit’ – a name created by the Revolution team. Does this mean we should now consider Bzzit and Moskito to be one? I’ve always been a little hazy on this subject; as have the games. I know we reached a consensus that there were two mosquitoes; now it looks like Rayman Origins might shake things up a bit.Moskito, one of the boss's first name Rayman, Rayman returns to Origins as an ally. We have the right to a sequence of shoot'em up during which we'll be on his back and take care of Moskito knock out whatever is within reach.
Oh, awesome. I was afraid they were going to create a redundant new god-type character to replace Polokus.Haruka wrote:It was confirmed in the Jeux Vidéo Magazine interview.
Things might get a bit complicated, given the many elements which led us to the current conclusion. As much as I agree with you on the fact that Origins will bring new information, no new consensus can be envisaged before the release of the game.spiraldoor wrote:It looks like they’re calling him Moskito, rather than ‘Bzzit’ – a name created by the Revolution team. At least they're calling them that instead of "Hunter Villain Ogre" like I thought they would if they ever brought back the Livingstones. Looks like I've been underestimating Michel Ancel's ability to form a structural canon.Hunchman801 wrote:
By the way, I suspect the name “Lividstone” to be a typo.
Aw, that sucks. I was really hoping Dark would make a comeback in Orgins. :LMr Dark is a super villain who does not appear, but whose story is told in Rayman Origins to better understand the events. He has faced Bétille in the very first episode of Rayman and we'll let you guess who won the battle.
I had no idea! Wow. Actually I've never even thought about it until I saw Quickfist's question. Thats interesting!Haruka wrote:Your answer is in this interview:Quickfist wrote:
Has anybody ever asked Ancel why he called Rayman "Rayman"? Does anyone here know? The question has been bothering me for a long time..

Indeed his behaviour is different in R2 and R3, but I also believe there will be an explanation for his initial behaviour in Rayman Origins. Otherwise, the only theory I can have in mind is the time. Or any kind of traumatic experience during Rayman 1/after RO/before R2.Bithainium wrote:Sorry if this has already been brought up, but isn't there a continuity error about Globox? In origins he is supposed to be very violent and fearless, whereas in Rayman 2 and 3 he is almost Pacifistic ( the only mention of him ever fighting back is a sign in the second area of the canopy) and is very cowardly. There is probably an explanation for Globox's huge change in personality but it does seem very strange nonetheless.
