The fuck? They were both fine games, a bit flawed, but had some excellent moments.

No, you're wrong.
Adventure 2 brought the most edgiest thing to exist on this wretched planet...
Shadow the Hedgehog.

I think we can all agree Shadow the Hedgehog was awful, but Adventure 2 isn't really to blame for that, SEGA has themselves to blame. Same with Boom and 06. You may as well say it's thanks to the classic series we got 06.
Oh are you talking about the game or the character? You realize Shadow's levels in SA2 were actually pretty fucking fun? The character himself wasn't great.

I blame the character, not the game.
Adventure 2 was fun. I loved the Chao Garden. Haven't played Adventure 1 though.

Ah I see, just to warn you, Adventure 1 has NOT aged greatly, if you can get past some of the awful dialog (even worse than SA2's), outdated graphics, then ya, you'll find some fun. Just uh... stay away from the awful STEAM port, they fucked up a lot. I reccomend getting HD remake on PS3,360, or getting the original on Dreamcast.

Seems fair. Thanks for the heads up. As for the article, I'll give it a read.

Meh, Sonic as a whole is cringe worthy to me, but it's cool stuff for kids who don't realise how incredibly silly it is to have sonic the hedgehog saving the us president.
The thing is, I'm willing to look past Sonic's cringe level is the gameplay is fun, and with Adventure that's the case, even though I seriously don't like the whole "collect a bunch of items!!" concept they kept enforcing in the sequel. Still though, it was executed well for the majority of it.
I'm kinda interested in how they're gonna treat the poor character now. Very much like 06, they're back in a posistion of everyone treating with about as much respect as a shovelware party game, and I'm assuming the redesigns will have to be thrown out so people stop associating it with everything that makes games bad.

I can see someone's gripe with Sonic as a character, I really liked Classic Sonic's personality, he was very lighthearted and serious while Sonic in the DC era tried way too hard to be edgy. This intro tells us a lot about classic Sonic's personality, no edge, just very lighthearted and does what has to be done.
