< thought i and j were unit vectors? <'s just talking about how the units for every value are preceded by an SI prefix like µF or kΩ so < has to convert everything to standard form before < can work anything out.

Ah, that's something else, <'s referring to
imaginary numbers. Mathematicians tend to note it as i, while engineers note it as j.
And as for dealing with standard form, oh yes, there are a lot of those. <'s tripped up more times than <'d like to admit thanks to confusing them during calculations, especially with capacitors. Still, <'s had those prefixes drilled into <'s head at this point, so < isn't quite as prone these days. It also helps that <'s calculator has an Engineer mode which automatically gives answers within said prefixes (i.e. it'll only show x10
3(kilo), x10
6(mega), x10
9(giga) and so on, and adjust the numbers accordingly.)
If it's a scientific calculator ^'s using, it might have such functionality built into it, <'d recommend checking its manual.

Poor cat.
< points out that the use of i and j (and k) for unit vectors descends from their use as the different imaginary units for quaternions, as famously defined by a graffito on a bridge in Dublin!

<'s calculator does have this option actually, but only for displaying the output in engineering notation and not for inputting, so < still has to remember them all if < wants to do any calculations.

<'s going to make a pie for ^'s birthday.
<'s also going to make a special gift and a pie to ^'s birthday and it's going to be awesome!

< is mildly curious as to how much effort it took ^ to put a "correct" apostrophe in his post.

OS X(/macOS!) does that automatically

< thinks that it might show up under "BIRTHDAYS".
< had to go home earlier because of a gas leakage today.

None, as < knows the key combos for smart punctuation.

< doesn’t have automatic correction enabled though.

<'s package might be stuck in a post office in <'s state. It has been there since the 20th, when it was processed there a second time. Tried USPS tracking and it doesn't recognize the tracking number.
