Hmm… That's a toughie. Basically nowadays a physical movie would probably be BluRay, which is probably DRMed up the yin-yang just as much as a digital download would be. But DVDs are nice (technically DRMed too, but nerfed by old US crypto export laws so it's easy to circumvent )

I think physical just about has the edge for me, unless we're talking about something that's been freely released without DRM so you can back it up however you please (they do exist, just not from the major studios!)
